I went to the 12:45 PM showing of 13 Hours: the Secret Soldiers of Benghazi 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi*(2016) - Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/13_hours_the_secret_soldiers_of_benghazi/) and about 2/3s of the way into the movie the emergency sirens went off (around 2:05 PM) and they asked us to leave the auditoriums and head to the lobby. Well, I hear any kind of emergency sirens and I skedaddle. So, I did not stick around to find out what happened unlike a few hundred or so other people who seemed to be congregating at the Old Mill Playhouse box office.
I would appreciate getting any information on this.
I did see a fire truck with its siren on going to the theater while I was leaving and a police car also going in that direction but which was in no particular hurry.

The other news source-- which must not be named-- has some pictures but little else but a few sentences.
I will have to find if they are honoring these ticket stubs to see another movie or the one we tried to see on 2/4/2016 around 2:00 PM.
That is one loud siren!!!!! A banshee I heard someone say.

The siren would have or be loud to be heard over the movies that are very loud. I understand they are probably that loud for hearing impaired. So I just take ear plugs or tissue to take the edge off. All is well. :22yikes:

They stopped the movies and then the sirens came on with flashing lights on both sides of the theater. After seeing movies in theaters in WI, NV, AZ, CO, IL, IA, MN, VA, and FL; this was the first time I have experienced such an emergency at a movie theater.
There was an extremely loud farter in a theater in Reno-- the Majestic-- which only prompted laughter throughout the theater.
I did not sense anything all that wrong from the facial expressions, body language, etc. of the various employees though. This is for 13 Hours and not the Majestic farter.

It was a problem with the AC that automatically tripped the alarm systen.

Thanks. Did they say what they would do about the tickets for the times in which the people had to vacate the various theaters?? I kept my ticket stub for 13 Hours.
Moviegoers were given the option of picking up where the movie where it left off or getting a refund.
“Picking up where the movie left off is easy because we are all digital,” said Rachel Ballou who oversees the theaters in The Villages.
She had high praise for theater staff and those who had been in the theater.
“It went about as smooth as you could have hoped,” Ballou said.
From the other Villages' news service.
I suppose I will have to stop by the theater and see if I can still get a refund. No big deal though.

We will have to see what The Villages Daily Sun says about this minor incident, if anything.
I hate it when real life butts its ugly head into the movies. ;)

The place smells musty enough with a good AC system. No need to be inside when it fails.

Now that I like Blue Cheese, musty is not so bad. Maybe I should add that to the "you know you're old when" thread.

The Villages Daily Sun has a very short paragraph about this in the Local Section.
Just says that it was a false alarm but the theaters were evacuated for safety purposes and then re-opened when it was all clear. The sirens started at 2:10 PM. The article is on C4 and is by Leah Schwarting.
Ironically, I had purchased this 13 Hours ticket in advance because I did not want to stand in a line of a couple hundred people. The same thing probably would have happened yesterday too of having to stand in line to get a refund or proof that I had a movie ticket stub.
If anyone gets a refund today or some other day this week for your ticket, I hope that you will tell me about it.
I assume they kept a tally of the people returned to see their movies, getting refunds, or those that left like me.
I am not a big fan of crowds.

Good to hear that Rachel Ballou is the manager of all the Villages Theaters.

I understand that your 13 Hours ticket stub is only exchangeable, not refundable. It can only be exchanged for the second half of Dirty Grandpa.

Quite a change from 13 Hours. The previews looked OK but a group of Lynnhaven ladies went last week and were simply appalled by what was on the screen. I did NOT pick that movie for them.

Is the second half of Dirty Grandpa as good as the first half of Dirty Grandpa?

The second half brought the first half to a fitting conclusion (don't want to give the plot away).[emoji6]

I do like the brunette with the very expressive eyes. She was quite good as a femme fatale in one of the Criminal Minds episodes. Today I got my re-admittance ticket good for movies at any of the Villages' theaters.
You do have to mention this is for the day when they had fire alarm and give them the ticket stub.
