We close on our home Dec.1 and want to have the interior painted and crown molding added.
When we had the same done to where we live now, the painter wanted the crown molding installed, but not caulked for painting. They preferred to prepare the molding for painting themselves.
I would like to contact someone to ask about the crown molding. Does anyone have any suggestions as to someone who installs crown molding?
I have searched and have the names of several painters.
It is Saturday afternoon, so I can't call S&S, but it would be perfect if they do both.
Thanks,
Pat

Having done this kind of work in the past I can tell you that you don't want the painter installing crown moldings just like you wouldn't have the electrician do plumbing work. You need a finish carpenter to install these. Each trade has it's own skill requirements. As far as the painter wanting to do the prep work, that is the best way to go.

We repainted our whole (new) house interior last February.
Used a color consultant, Choices in Color, Carolyn Campbell 352-874-9872
Who recommended a painter, 1st Impressions Painting, Tom Campbell, 352-430-1102
The painting, mainly by retired TV residents, took two days with nine painters!
We had some crown molding installed in the MBR ceiling tray, after the painting, by an installer recommended by the painter - nice job.

For Crown moulding projects, I would highly recommend B&J Builders. Brian Fretag is a licensed General Contractor and former Village contruction supervisor. He is reliable, requires no monies up front, personally installs 5 or 7 inch crown moulding and then brings professional painters to caulk and cover with an oil base paint to color coordiante your room(s).
Brian can be reached at 352-516-066.
Happy to respond to any questions.

Thank you 784 Caroline. I will call B&J in the morning.
Arrangements have been made for Tom Campbell and group to paint around the 5th, so the crown can be added after that. Am really looking forward to having the work done, though we don't plan on moving everything to TV until about Apr 1. We live only 229 miles from our new home, so will be able to visit often!
