I would be interested in reviews of this movie. Still remember vividly many scenes from Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. The Passion of the Christ (2004) - Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/passion_of_the_christ/)

From some reviews I have read, I understand it is a pretty good movie. Unlike most movies of this type, instead of being told from the perspective of one of Jesus's disciples, it is told from the perspective of a Roman soldier who witnessed the crucifixion. I also read that it is not so graphic like the Passion was and may be more suitable for the younger set - under 12, for example. We're planning to be in TV over Easter and hoping to catch a showing of it while there.

I could hardly stomach watching The Passion of the Christ once. This is a movie I have probably only seen twice in my lifetime so far because of how hard it was to watch.

Actually, that's exactly what one reviewer said himself about The Passion, but he felt differently about Risen. You may want to give it a try.

saw it yesterday and enjoyed it very much...very human story, not too much of the actual passion but more of the story of what happened after the crucifixion, when a roman soldier is assigned to guard the body and then after He is Risen, to find the body and the disciples to bring them in....the lead is played by Joseph Feinnes, younger brother of Ralph Feinnes, who is a very attractive character himself. not sure if it is completely fictional as far as the character of Clavius, want to research that a bit. still a good movie!

I liked this quite a bit. I will have to do more research as well. I have read the Gospels now and again but need to take another look at them.
