Good morning,

Thank you for the links.

I got me an ol' Green Beret right here. I will go thank him personally right now. But I still will not let him jump out of perfectly good helicopters anymore. (even if it is Veterans' Day) -- I know he still wants to.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

At 11 AM I vow to honor all veterans with silence, deep gratitude and prayers.

A pittance of time.

Today, I will stop at the veterans memorial and lay a flower for my Dad, a Korean war veteran, his 1st Veterans day in heaven. A flower for Greg Belanger, my friend killed in Iraq. A flower for my Pa a WWII POW hero. And one more flower for all the veterans. I will say a prayer that God watch over and keep all those away from home safe. Thank you to all who have served our country for our freedom and liberty. I will never forget. Godspeed!

We attended a wonderful service on Sunday. As a part of the service always, the local veterans' organizations call the names of those members who have passed away during the last year. A name is called, as in a roll call, and the name is repeated by another who then says,..."does not answer the call." It is a very moving tribute. World War II veterans are leaving us so fast now.

.......

One of the things I recently heard was about a bumper sticker. We have all seen the one that says, "If you can read this, thank a teacher."

Well, I heard that there is also one that says, "If you can read this in English, thank a veteran."

Thank you.
