I am nearing the age for Medicare and my health insurance from my former district (Kaneland) will terminate. Is there anyone down here that uses Illinois TRS health insurance as their suppliment to Medicare? If so are you pleased....what are the pros and cons?

Oh my gosh! My husband and I are building in TV right now and will be retiring in 2010 from Kaneland and moving there full-time. We will both be using the TRS insurance as our primary insurance from 55 till we are Medicare age. Keeping the Kaneland insurance is no longer an option. My husband's father has had the TRS insurance for many years and it has been fine.
I am sure we must know who you are since my husband has taught at Kaneland for 32 years and I have taught here for 21 years. I will send you a private message.

I taught in Wheaton for 33 years and I am on the TRIP insurance. So far it has been very good. Did you know that since Florida doesn't have HMO coverage, you can get PPO coverage at the HMO price?

Smalll world....that we all are from the same area. Kaneland folks e-mail me love to know who you are. Are both of you currently teaching at Kaneland.

Thanks for the insurance tips. I feel more comfortable knowing that the Illinois TRS insurance has been used outside of the state of Il.
