My wife and I spent a week at the end of September on our life style preview visit and are returning with our two dogs as renters for December and January. We both enjoy a good glass or two of red wine with dinner and were amazed that none of the restaurants that we visited had more than a couple of cheap wines available. Did we just not find the restaurants that have extensive wine lists?

Hi
Try the Legacy at the Nancy Lopez club. They have a pretty good cross section of wines.
Just my humble opinion

both Garvino's and Lopez have a great selection of wines....however there is a store moving into SS between Starbucks and Pauly's pizza...named "Put A cork in it".........I haven't heard much about his lately other than the sign being up on the building.....however this is suppose to be FABULOUS!!!! A huge store with tastings daily!!
I also think that if you go to one of the CC and call ahead they may allow you to bring your own wine....(ship it ahead of time) and just charge a small cork fee.

Perhaps the new Havana Country Club will meet your wants. Check out this video.

Try the Legands or Legacy Country Clubs. GarVinos has a good wine selection but only serves cheese & fruit plates which are good but more of an appetizer or late night snack. The live music on weekends makes for a pleasent night out.

There is a winery to visit (LakeRidge) about 30 minutes from the Villages. You might enjoy that trip - right off the Turnpike going towards Orlando.

"Amelia's" inside the new Waterfront Inn at LSL. I was there last night and there was a fair size wine list on the table. No Robert Mondavi, though.
Perhaps the following link can be of interest to you:

If that doesn't work click on this and then "Wine List"

It looks like we all know where to find wine!!:1rotfl:
Now I will have to go try all the other places!!
Don't forget Urban Legends does a wine tasting every Wednesday evening....$15 gets you a heavy appetizer buffet and all the "tastings" you want.

I know that Amelia's at The WaterfrontInn just updated their wine list and they have an unfiltered Merlot (Newton) and they do have Cakebread, Duckhorn and Robert Mondavi.
