I had laminate floors put in and they put felt pads on the bottom of all the chair legs. The felt pads keep coming off the chair legs and then they leave sticky black marks on the laminate. Is there something that will stay on the chair legs that won't scratch the floor? There is something sold by As Seen On TV but they don't fit. I've tried several brands of pads and all do the same.

I purchased the leg protectors that have a nail in the center. The protectors stay in place and don't scratch the floor. I bought them at Ace, just tell the salesperson what you need and they will take you to the item. I installed them on all the chairs, end tables, living room furniture. This is "once and done" after installing them.

I use chair socks. I bought mine on Amazon and love them. They keep scratches away and allow the chair to slide easily on the floor

Try rubbing the bottom of the legs with rubbing alcohol, "goof-off", etc.; make sure it dries good and then put the felt on. I did that after the 1st time they came off and they've been on now for about 9 months without coming off.

Thanks for the tip. We've had the same problem.

Had a refinishing business for 33 years and never used the felt pads. Too easy to get "grit" in them and then scratch the floor. Particularly here with all the sand.
We always used the small plastic post that was attached by a nail in the center of the leg, lasted longer and didn't collect grit.
