Our new Texas Roadhouse will be open on Monday, March 14th. We love eating there and we are sure it will be a great addition to our selection of restaurants on Hwy. 441. We were invited to their preview for friends & family today. The food was very good and they have a friendly, well trained staff.
Welcome to the Villages Texas Roadhouse!

invited to eat at the preview for friends & family.
The preview ran pretty good. Only a few minor kinks.
As you know it's more family oriented than Longhorn.
They will do well here.

Watch out if you have a reaction to MSG. It is in their rubs.

Unfortunately, it's in everything. (This comes directly from them)
Longhorn does NOT use it!

That's what I remember about them from up north. I really loved their food but the wait staff going over to certain tables and screaming something or other and trying to get everyone chanting and clapping drove me nuts.
If you go there on your birthday they'll try to get you to sit on a horse saddle with a cowboy hat while the sing to you.
I guess some people like that stuff. I'd rather have a nice quiet meal myself.

We have only been once, in Tampa, and while the food was good, the number of screaming kids forced us to never return. We will see how that goes around here.

I don't like Texas Roadhouse. WAY too noisy and obnoxious for a restaurant. The atmosphere is not relaxing at all! No thanks!

It doesn't appear to be in a prime location for Villages customers - by Sam's Club - and not golf cart accessible.

Yes they do. Not in everything like Texas Roadhouse......but you do have to ask and they may say no because they don't realize it's in the base for so many things like dressings, soups, sauces, seasoning, etc.

Went last night group of 3 place was packed. Got our beeper they gave us rolls and peanuts while we waited. about 15 minutes later we were seated. Waitress was there right away took our Beverage order left the menus. Came back with the Beverages took the food order. everything was delivered in a timely fashion, was hot, nice size portion in fact just finished what I couldn't last night. Price was fine, got a soda to travel for each of us. I will be back.

MSG is in almost every restaurant sauce and seasoning. It is difficult for restaurants to avoid it. Those that scrutinize all their purchases, will let you know they are MSG-Free and advertise as such.

Went for the first time tonight and as in many Steak chain restaurants it is difficult to hire some one that really can cook a steak. Three out of 4 Of our orders where over cooked. two let it slide. I sent mine back as I ordered Medium and came as really well done. The second one was cooked to perfection and I was a happy camper. I am sure once they get it all together all will be better. It is a learning process.

Try finding mid rare in a chain restaurant. :1rotfl:

FYI If you join their site on your mobile device you get a free appetizer. It take maybe two days to arrive. I have mine. Can't wait!

Our party of 7 went in Tampa and it was so loud I couldn't hear
a lot of the conversation across our own table.

If the atmosphere isn't pleasant why go? What makes it so noisy. As I previously stated sounds like a Chucky Cheez that serves steaks.

It *is* loud, therefore it is not a place to go if you want to have a private and/or intimate conversation, however it is one of my favorite places. I love their before-meal rolls with that scrumptious cinnamon-butter spread and their RoadKill. One of my and my wife's favorites.
Keep in mind taste is always personal. Not everyone thankfully likes the same things. :)
