We just installed SimpliSafe in our home. Does anyone know if Sumter County requires an alarm permit? Please don't respond with call them because I plan to if someone doesn't know definitively.

We have had the same system up North. I know it very well and it is a great system for the price. Love that it does not require a contract and has an affordable monitoring plan

We had ADT for 25 years and paid them $55 a month. When we moved down here we had 24 months left on our contract. They made us pay off the rest of the contract. That is why we chose SimpliSafe.

Same here. I called the Sumter County Sheriff's office about this when I installed it a year ago. They told me that no permit was required. I even posted this info to the SimpliSafe site so if you had searched there, you might have found your answer.

Hide the base unit, so my the time the burglars find the base unit it is too late.

Our Simplisafe base unit is also hidden and difficult to access. Plus every zone, but one, is on instant trigger when the system is armed in "away" mode.

I can't get past the fugly looking master panel. I'll keep my ADT system. Hardwired as well as cellular backup is the only way to go. My system is the same as any commercial system, Simplysafe seems amateurish, IMHO.
