Was there a skimmer found on a pump?

Too bad businesses can't be held accountable for their equipment being tampered with and customers getting ripped off. Have a employee walked the pumps several times a day. Take only a few minutes.

Don't they have cameras on the pumps? I suspect most skimming are inside jobs? Seems fishy to me skimmers can open locked pump with majority have cameras on them and go undetected of days or hours? I guess skimming gets the same justice and attention as hackers. Never hear of hackers being charged let long getting prosecuted? Amazing the most advanced country in the world still has model T credit card system.:boom:

Why is it wrong to go inside and pay cash?

Counting today, this makes at least three different times that the Murphy station on 466 had CC numbers stolen. I've quit using that station a few years ago for that reason. Also it's important to not use a debit card, that's what the thieves are really after because the pin numbers are usually comprimised as well. With a CC you have protection, but debit cards you're usually out of luck.

Cash is the best option if you are worried about skimming but you didn't say you would use cash. You just said that you would pay inside. The video I posted was of a skimmer being placed on the CC machine inside the store that's why I said you were wrong if you thought it would be safe to go inside to pay.

If these thieves were getting more jail time maybe we would see less of it.

We too had our credit card info stolen at the Murphy Oil on 466 last year. It was the only place I had used that particular card for some time. The credit card company called to ask about a charge being made at a dollar store. The charge was denied.

I feel safe going to Shell stations on 466 and the one at 301 and 44. They all have new pumps with signs on them that say they are credit card protected.

I thought the solution to this problem was to simply buy gift cash cards but on another thread the OP said a gift card purchased for gas on 3/06 was used in another state on 3/12.

So the way its going for Americans if more of us would simply use cash chances are hackers would convert to muggers.

You would believe that these IT guys who are demanding high salaries would be a cut or two or three above the common hacker but you and I would be wrong. Maybe some of these companies instead of recruiting IT people from universities would recruit from the streets. I mean it takes a crook to...........
