I have a nice set of Henckels kitchen knives that really are in need of a professional sharpening. Does anyone know where I can have this done in or around TV? I'd really appreciate any recommendation.

Try SURPRO inc from Ocala. They usually visit The Villages once a week. Their number is: 352 236-2108 (Nancy & Charles) Email: surpro@cox.net.

Thanks to both of you. Midge, the phone number may not be current. I called it and got someone else's message center. So I sent an email and hopefully they will respond positively. Graygoose, if this doesn't work out I'll hope in my chariot and head for the sharpening shack. Very much appreciate your assistance.

I've used the sharpening shack and was pleased with the results on my knives. Good job, reasonable prices.

Midge, the phone number you gave IS correct. Apparently I must have mis-dialed. Charles responded to my email and also telephoned me last night. He will be in TV today and is going to call when he's in my area. He said his usual price is $5 per knife. It seems he does a lot of sharpening of scissors for barbers and hair salons. Thanks again for the information.

I just returned from meeting up with Surpro, Inc. (Charlie & Nancy) at LSL. They sharpened my five kitchen knives and did a superb job. Their portable facility is a specially tricked-out van with a lot of specialized equipment. The business is primarily scissors and shears for barbers, beauty shops and high-end groomers. They're from Ocala but travel throughout the area. Very knowledgeable and nice couple. If you ever need anything sharpened or want to buy some top quality scissors be sure to give them a call at the number Midge put at the top of this thread. I highly recommend them.
