Yeah you guys. YOU should never have left us. Lots of fun things happened while you were gone and worse, we talked about you!

Just kidding. You were missed. Welcome home!!:pepper2:

You missed the Christmas lighting! But I'm sure those southern ports made it worthwhile.

Seriously, we did talk about you and we can't tell you what we said.

Thanks so much for the welcome home! ;) Vetman and I had a simply wonderful time. Wish you could have all been there. (Well, maybe not all, too crowed in the buffet line!:icon_hungry:) Great tours with HB & Sidney in Puerto Rico, Antigua and St. Marten. Sidney and vetman outdid themselves at a jeweler that HB & Sid knows! Wow, do we ever have a couple of great husbands! Very nice spending time with all. Pete and Paula are dears.

Thanks again for the welcome home. We missed you! Now on to dieting and exercise! :yuck:

Sidney and Vetman outdid themselves at a Jeweler? I can hardly wait to see the results. Other women can collect shoes. Nothing I love more than jewelery. :coolsmiley:

Dieting and exercise are two bad words in December. We start that nonsense January 1!

Oh just great.:ohdear: Just what Mrs F doesn't need is someone pointing her into a direction of a jewler. This subject is closed. I hope. Glad you guys had a good time and weren't jailed for theft.

I am, or must be, the only living woman in the universe who doesn't go wild over fine jewelry. My friends have Lagos brand jewelry and collect those charms on Bracelets, I can't think of the name, (Even our Helene does) I have a friend who paid 5 K for a watch. I just can't find that thrill. I imagine that good jewelry is a good investment in this day and age. What is wrong with ME?

We wanna see the sparklers!!!!! Chels, HB...get out those cameras and strike a pose...

I just love sparklers, especially when it's not July 4th!

Somewhere along the way, GG, you must have had your "Bling!!" tooth extracted. Now if I could only locate my sweet tooth and have that extracted, I'd be all set, no more diets for me!!! :D

And welcome back cruisers, I can't wait to see the pics.

Nothing wrong with you GG! I'm not sure why most women love jewellery so much. It's probably very basic. Don't birds pick up shiny objects and take them back to their nest?

Perhaps we like jewellery because we see it as an enduring sign of love and devotion? Hahaha. No, that doesn't work. How many wedding rings have women tossed in the ocean because of infidelity?

Nothing wrong with you Gracie. I fit into that category also. Never got too excited about diamonds or fine jewlery. We're all different thank Goodness, different strokes for different folks. Mabe we should start a new thread on what really makes our hearts sing!

Opera had a whole show on that many years ago and thats how I came about volunteering at shelters. Really is interesting to dig deep and find out what really makes us happy.

Got to admith tho. A beautiful new piece of jewelry certainly wouldnt make me sad! LOL

I have the same "problem." Could care less about jewelry. I always tell my DH that he's getting away cheap with me. :-) I tell him that any time I want to buy something other than jewelry - or go hit the slots.

I did buy one nice pair of earrings on our Baltic cruise. So what happens - I lose one of them. I'm hopeless.

Hi All,

Thank you all for the sparkling welcome back to two sparkling women.

Vetman and Sidney saved thousands on this cruise. I went to the local jewelers to double check that we did get a good buy. We did on my earrings and they did not have a necklace like the one Chels fell in love with.

I did, check out at the jewelers on the islands that she did get the lowest price. She did. After looking at so many rainbow saphire pendants I fell in love with them.

Now none of us have anyone to pull out our chairs, do a Chippendale dance or sing for us, hand us a menu with no prices and all the wonderful things that go with cruising.

If anyone wants the name of the jewelry store and sales person to see, just let me know.

Oh well, the major consolation that we all have is coming back to TV and all of you.

May I jump in here for a minute and explain something to the TOTV members. I have received three inquiries from members as to why they were not informed of a TOTV crusie so they could plan to go. Would the organizers and participants of this cruise please explain that it was not a TOTV cruise, rather is was a group of friends on this forum who got together privately and went cruising.

Members, please be assured that if Talk of The Villages sponors a trip, we will let everybody know, and all will be invited to attend. In the meantime, if any groups of members wish to organize individual travel as friends, they are welcome to do so, as long as all the members know that it was a private event, and not sponsored by the forum to included only a select number of people.

Talk of the Villages will be sponsoring group travel for all members from time to time, and we will announce the trips months in advance.

Thanks

JLK

It's all Tom's fault....

I used to say that the only diamonds I wanted were on my blades. I did quite a bit of woodwork back then and hope to again in TV. So bling was not my thing.

I also like to shop when we travel. Tom's objections to the size, quantity and weight (as in overage charges) of the items I bought kept getting louder and louder.

So I switched...
Now I stay within his guidelines....I buy small, (compared to a large pot) but with lots of sparkle.

....now he says he should have stuck to the overage charges.

Men you just can't please them.

I am writing a response to Jan's post here.

This cruise was a fund raising cruise for a local brain injury support group. The cruisers did not pay extra for the support group to receive monies.

If you have any questions please pm Hyacinth Bucket.

This was a cruise that was open to anyone who wanted to go, BUT was not a TOTV sponsored cruise.

This was a FUND RAISING cruise for a brain injury support group.

Hope this clears up any questions that have been sent to Jan.

Jan, Could clarify something for me please?

This event was not a private friends only event.
It was open to anyone who wanted to go.
The cruise was a fundraiser for a good cause and any and all TOTV members would have been welcome.
It was not a TOTV sponsored event, nor was it friends only.

Given this situation would it have been okay to post about this event so that all could have participated...which would have been a real benefit to the recipient, or would this have been considered advertising by the Admin and therefore disallowed?

Would like to know for future reference.
Thanks.

Chels - Mrs F received your note. And what she doesn't know is that I still have the card in my wallet from Precious Gems International at St Maartens. I mean, where else can I go and get a FREE coke for $3200 while she was browsing :cus: jewelry. Can't eat it, can't fish with it. What good is it? But you gals are worth it so will probably due (yes DUE spelled correctly) it all over again. Unless we're still in the multiple housing mode:sigh:

We would have had no problem at all with this having been posted here as long as it was not a "for profit" event sponsored by a travel agent or agency. Additionally, it would have to be made clear that it was not being sponsored by TOTV. It is always best to let us know ahead of time that you wish to post an event like this and we we will most likely do eveything in our power to make it successful. We want our members to have fun and use this forum to facilitate that.
