Per the requests of both Governor Scott and President Obama, your flag should be at half-staff until sundown, March 26, 2016.
This is being done out of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on March 22, 2016, in Brussels, Belgium.

Wish I could but my staff is kind of short. I do fly my flag every day in honor of America.

If you fly your flag from a mount attached to the house, check if there are two holes on the mount. The lower hole putts the staff almost horizontal. This lower angle is equivalent to half-staff.

I would comply but the flagpole does not give the option to lower it. It is 14 ft tall and is lit up at night. Better to leave it full then take it down correct? I want to do the correct thing. Advice please?

Leave it full. Much better to have/see it wave than not.

I guess you could if you wanted to, but this was the order:
The order applies to the White House and all public buildings, diplomatic missions and military posts around the world.

Bogie is correct. Obama can't actually order civilians to lower their flags but it would be a nice jester.

Due to the latest events I usually do lower our flag as a sign of respect.

Bogie, I believe that was all FEDERAL buildings, not all public buildings. I imagine Gov. Scott's order was all STATE buildings.

I was thinking the same thing. Full is better than down. We order a new flag every four months and retire the previous one to the local V.F.W. Truthfully I never considered flying half-mast when I bought this flagpole. Next flagpole will be proper. I only looked at the price. My mistake.

I agree with your motives and reasoning. It doesn't surprise me that you are proud to fly the flag.
You are a good person, Sir.
