Shopping Yamaha gas (EFI) models. Carts and clubs swears their insulation package and extended tail pipe reduces noise. Villages discount carts says this just increases heat in the engine compartment. Villages carts seems to justify any 'option'.
What's the scoop?

The insulation works well and the extended exhaust is a deffinet plus, many dealers are also installing louver vents on access panel for more venting to the drivers rear.

Wouldn't these louver vents negate the sound insulation ? I think using a remote temperature thermistor with charting capabilities located in the engine compartment both before and after insulation is installed would indicate if in fact the engine compartment temp is increasing to a critical point. Monitoring cylinder head temp would also help.
