I am aware that renters are not covered under insurance policies for golf carts. However, I'm wondering if anyone knows if renters are covered if the golf cart is street legal and has maximum coverage. I have not seen that mentioned in any of the threads on that topic.

We converted our golf cart rentals to our own LLC for liability reasons and have found insurance only for us, not the renters! Can't find anybody to rent to renters!

Call the Villages Insurance they will probably have your answers. Also try calling AAA in the Villages.

Those that rent carts probably have no insurance on them for you either. Beware!!!!!!

renting a golf cart is like renting jet skis at the beach. You sign the waiver and your on your own.

You can not eliminate your liabilty under law with a waiver. Best check with an attorney.

Thanks for the responses. I called my insurance company (Allstate) was told that I already have "Guest Liability" coverage on my rental unit golf cart. This means I cannot be sued if the renters are injured in an accident.

Unless your advertise your rental with a golf cart... ask them more questions and you will walk away feeling unsure if they really cover you!
