in the amount of participation in the Political Forum since the election.

Where have all the lively discussions gone to? I already miss the back and forth opinions and barbs!

Just because OBACKO OBAMOS' team won (what my 4 year old daughter called it and wanted) doesn't mean the issues in our country have been solved. Those of you that have participated in this forum before the election must surely have some input as to where our country should or could evolve.

Get your BALL out of the closet and come play!!!:rant-rave:

From my point of view, we are in a transition stage and I really want to support our President (both the encumbent and the President elect). In addition, I am afraid we are also in a state with this election that NOBODY will stand much for crticizing President elect Obama as with the campaign....hoping we can begin to get real on that particular part.

I am afraid if I were posting on here at this stage, I would be talking party as I think the democratic leadership of congress is a big big joke.

In any case, I read all the time on here and have enjoyed those participating in the economic discussion and that about the union voting.

I am sure there will be a lot of "give and take" once we officially have a new President :)

At this point in time, the Executive Branch is getting a pass because it is changing and transitioning itself, and actually doing it in a professional and orderly manner.

Congress is another story altogether, as these bailout activities keep showing us. The con game continues, with the shills in the personage of several Congressional "financial" representatives and senators, and the marks being all of us.

90% of Congress returned to office after this last election, and darned few of the Congressional careerists (15-20-30-40 years on the Hill) aren't still there. THEY are the real problem, not the Executive Branch which goes through a mandatory flush out every eight years. The Hill just chugs along maintaining a level of fogginess that is utterly shocking.

How nutty are we, the voters, to allow this?

When you look into the eyes of Sen Dodd, Reps Pelosi and Frank and the rest of the financial watchdogs, don't you just REALLY TRUST them as competent and comforting? Ha!

Does the thought of Barney Frank and/or Charlie Rangel make you feel warm and comfy as overseers of our money ?

I noticed this too but wasn't going to say anything as I assumed Gnu meant GRAND daughter....could be wrong though....maybe they are moving to the family village.

Nope, no family village for this one. I like my peace and quiet between visits from my GRANDDAUGHTER. Mrs. GNU and I actually had a grandson born yesterday, a 6lb. 3 oz., 20 inch long baldy.:coolsmiley:

P.S. I'm a little older than the average in TV. Not old yet, but working on it!

You are not getting older unless you can remember Whalom Park's merry-go-round and skee-ball, Kimball's Ice Cream Barn on Rte 2A, Phan Rang in the summer, or dinner at Slattery's.

AGREE?

Gnu, If I go by what people mean and not what they say, I would think that the government were bailing me out.

Gnu, I notice you're moving from Marco Island? I'm really curious why you're moving.. M. Island is such a pretty spot. If it is none of my business, I completely understand, just ignore my note.

I know all but Phan Rang. Mrs. Gnu and I had our first date at Kimball's and we ate at Slattey's shortly before we left Leominster for Florida. My Grandmother ran rides in Whalom during the summer.

Remember Vi's dairy bar? How about the Double Dragon?:coolsmiley:

Marco Island is too pricey for our retirement budget. We have had to rent the unit out during season to help pay for it. We can buy a home in TV that we'll be happy with for half of what our condo (900 sq feet small) here in Marco is worth. Invest the rest (CD's this time), drink the cool-aid and be happy.:coolsmiley:

I'm sure you'll be delighted with your move to TV. We feel homes are very affordable, and the lifestyle can't be beat.
