We currently use Verizon but are thinking of switching to AT&T. Since we do not have a landline any longer, we want to make sure we have good reception.
Any 'dead spots' with AT&T?

Also, gas is $1.39/gal locally (CO) --- a pleasant surprise! On our return to
The Villages in January, we're using a car service from Orlando. The price is $85 which seems rather high now with lower gas prices. I know that the Village shuttle is offering deals.......how about the private services?

Bogart, can't comment on Verizon vs. ATT, but can comment on the land-line. We have Verizon cell and it works OK. We dumped our land-line and got a Magic Jack. Cost $40 for device and 1st year, and it's $20 year going forward. So we have our Verizon cells and the Magic Jack as a sort of land line thru the computer. It works OK although it's sometimes a little slow to get a dial tone when you pick it up.
For trips from the airport, we use Enterprise and get a one-way form the airport to TV. My son works for them so we get a discount, but even at full price I think it's less than the $85. Of course you have to drive the hour or so. For some strange reason it's more expensive to go from TV to the airport. Not sure why.
Anyway, hope that helps.

We usually to the same, rent at airport from Enterprise for under $50 for a full size car and maybe $20 to fill it up at end of the 24 hrs before turning it in at LSL.

Going back to airport it is $85 or so for car in LSL Enterprise! So we usually get a ride from our daughter who lives about an hour East of TV.

We've been using the Florida Jitney to Orlando. $34 one way. They run 24 hours and their service is exceptional. They also go to Sanford and Tampa.

It is more for Enterprise to go from TV to Orlando airport because they charge a $55 drop off fee at the airport. I still like to use Enterprise due to the convenience and the ability to control my own time.

AT&T is poor in the southern part of the villages down by 466A. Changed to Verizon and reception is better.
