What do you think the odds are that the republican establishment will be able to weasel Paul Ryan in ahead of Trump or Cruise?

I believe that even the best of the political analyst cannot answer your question.
Like many I wanted a "do over" because the news media & RNC setting up debates used something actually very useless "poll numbers" to decide. The voters never really got a chance to hear from all of the candidates.
The news media handling the debates did a lousy job because they tried to make it about them and so their questioning was planned to secure higher ratings rather than substantive responses from candidates. Its also part of the reason Trump's tirades dominated much of the time.
I have been saying all during this campaign that I was longing for a "Hail Mary" to occur at the Republican Convention. However if it does the certainty is that Trump will not go quietly into the night.
Trump could have been a good candidate because his attacks on political correctness and hypocrisy among the political class was refreshing. However for whatever organic reason he is energy out of control which was quite surprising for me because you would have thought that such a successful businessman would be just the opposite.
I still believe that there is a hidden agenda behind Trump's run for president. There are red flags all over his campaign but only time will reveal the true answer?
Personal Best Regards:

Nope, it won't be Ryan. It will be Kasich. If Trump gets the delegates he needs, they will leave him alone. But, he if doesn't get exactly the amount needed, they will nominate Kasich to beat Hillary or Sanders, depending on whether or not Hillary gets indicted before the convention. And if they nominate Kasich, Trump will back him......guaranteed.

Isn't it too late to go third party?
Was that the GOP plan all along?

When I saw the term "weasel" used, I immediately thought you were speaking of the Clintons, especially Slick Willy, but not excluding Killary.

I believe weasel was meant to suggest steal or sneak. Also, are you aware how childish you sound when you use the terms like slick willy or Killary? You lose all credibility even if you had something interesting to say. (Ya, I know, small odds)

When the republican establishment tries to circumvent the will of the republican voters what it's really saying is they agree with independents and democrats in thinking the Tea Party is full of wack jobs. Sure the Tea ******* were useful for republicans to get elected but governing is too complicated for the simple minded / back and white thinking Tea *******.

I would have to really drop pretty low to compete for the credibility level of a liberal. Interesting that you don't dispute the subject of the post, just the term I used to describe the scumbags. I bet you thought that I was concerned about my credibility with you, huh? Obviously, you found the comment "interesting" enough to submit a reply. Have a great day.

I believe you made a typographical error in your post. You MEANT to say, "I bet this informed citizen is going to cast their vote for the next President of the USA which will be either Sen. Sanders or Sec. Clinton." :BigApplause:

So you think anybody that disagrees with your party is a tea party follower.
Well that ertainly makes one's limited, but incorrect view, easier to deal with.
We know, your job is to aggrivate. Accuracy about anything stated by you is purely coincidental. Especially with such a limited outlook.

A little off thread, no?Why is Trump making the first apology he has made since he was a child to Cruz?
Because it:
Looks like the republican establishment is going to find a way to dump Trump
and he is trying to mend fences before it's too late.
You're right. I should have connected the dots.

I believe the are Repubs will try to disenfranchise their voters and sneak Kasich in. If that happens , I wouldn't be surprised if Trump goes the third party route. He's all about the ego, and I don't see him giving up very readily.

Whether the RNC sees Trump as a threat to the establishment GOP or just a bull in the china shop, if he doesn't get the needed delegate count, the Convention will nominate another candidate. One that toes the line of the party. Good or bad, it's much like union power. They cannot "disenfranchise" (a term liberals love to use) voters if half the votes say they wouldn't vote for him if he was the nominee. The RNC wants to win, are desperate to win this term. They won't have to sneak Kasich in. He is visible to the country and is liked by enough that they think that out of the three, he is most likely to win against Hillary. It is their prerogative to nominate whichever representative they wish for their party. Just like the DNC has already decided that Hillary will represent them. It is just a matter of her coronation. She already has the super delegates, so Sanders is just so much window dressing. I bet they are surprised that he even fared as well as he has. The majority of Republican voters as well a a good portion of Independent voters would rally around Kasich. Hillary would have no ammunition to use against him. She would defeat herself, IF she is not incarcerated first.

I'm sure Donald knows that he CAN'T go third party because most states won't put him on the ballot if he changes his mind now. Just more sensational hype. I doubt he will even care, if he doesn't get the nomination. But, it will give him something to talk about.

Jesus can't you find anything better to do with your time than watch Hannity. You fans probably don 't know it but he is praying for a Clinton win. It will allow him to continue making a very good living speaking for the far right. If Cruz wins Hannity is out of business.

Isn't Clinton at the moment the lion that get's poked?
How much fun was it to poke Bush and Palin?
Trump? If he gets in no comedian will be out of work.
Cruz is as funny and respected as Nixon.
The only idiots that make fun of Obama are here. A big audience of 3 at most.

Boy are you in denial or the closet or in the closet in denial.
You will go a long long way out of the closet to find many who adore Obama as some "say" here.
Remind me if you ever put forth a post without being a wise a$$ and calling names.

Do you really think like that? No offense meant, but you should seek therapy if you really imagine this scenario. How you came to this conclusion is beyond any normal reasoning. But you did get the attention you seek. Congrats.

Just because there is ONE liberal on here that makes crazy comments and then goes back an replies to himself/herself does not mean there are only a couple of conservative posters on here doing the same. Remember, the majority of The Villagers are conservative. There is a minority of uninformed liberals, but they are spread pretty thin in this community.

Not sure about the majority of Villagers being conservative if they are backing either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. Neither one seems all that set on Reagan kind of politics. They are both anti-establishment as far as what the GOP has stood for over time.

Conservative is NOT defined as "Reagan kind of politics." There are different levels of conservative, just like there are different levels of liberal. A person does not have to be establishment Republican to be conservative. There are conservative Independents and there even used to be conservative Democrats. I do find it interesting that you do not find Cruz to be conservative.

I don't think you have any idea what the tea party represents other than they are most assuredly not for what you stand for and that is sufficient for your ongoing snide remarks and name calling of them.
If you have any idea and if you can carry on a dialogue without being derogatory and nasty then let's hear from you what you think you know about what the tea party represents.
If you can't be civil....forget it. We have had enough of your name calling and it isn't even noon yet!

Do you think I wrote that? When there is a spelling error, it's not me. I'm a terrible speller but I use spell check. Sometimes I don't proof read very well. Except for now, I always provide a link to support my position.
