My favorite is probably the first because it was the visual introduction to the wizarding world and so many of the characters. My wife and I enjoyed all of the movies but the first was special.
That said, I thought the first of the books was also the least. Partly because the story was somewhat simplistically told. Rowling became a better writer over the course of the books and the stories and characterizations became more interesting and complex. In fact, they got a little too complex to boil down to two-hour-long movies. Too much interesting stuff had to get trimmed out. They might better have been expressed as a lengthy (and impossibly expensive) TV series. But then that's generally true of a lot of good novels, including those aimed at younger audiences.
