This will be our first Christmas without the huge family get together....just the two of us (and maybe another couple we just met ). We've been here four months. Where can I find a listing of which restaurants/country clubs are hosting a Christmas menu or buffet? Or, does anyone have a recommendation? Good food is a must...festive atmosphere would be nice. Also, this is my first entry into this forum. Please advise if I have broken any rule or have posted in the wrong place. Thank you.

The Villages Daily Sun newspaper will have ads, but it may be better to just call around.
Having called around recently, what I've found is:
1) Many of the country clubs will be closed, with Orange Blossom CC being the exception (Buffet on Christmas Day).
2) Cattle Barons and Katie Belles are open, but reservations are going fast. Waterford Inn, I think, is also open.
Hope that helps...

Thanks SteveZ - I'm watching the paper....
That's it. Orange Blossom, Katie Belle's, Cattle Baron and The Waterfront Inn.
The Villages Gourmet Club Website has other listings (like The Mission Inn in Howey-In-The-Hills).
Think it's: http://thevillagesgourmetclub.home.comcast.net .
Check all 3 pages (300 restaurants!). Just do a FIND on the word "Christmas".
Take me with you? :icon_hungry:

We stopped by Amelia's at the Waterfront Inn and picked up their Christmas Menu. We had Thanksgiving there and it was very nice.
Good luck and have a HappyHoliday!

Thai Ruby is open both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
Nothing says Christmas quite like ice-cold Thai beer and spicy steamed dumplings! Yum! :icon_hungry:

Yay! We ain't right -- we're Villagers!
Thai Ruby was packed on Christmas Eve. It seemed like everybody went there for Christmas Eve dinner -- and our dinner was scrumptious. We had the dumpling appetizers with the 'steam coming out your ears' spices, and I had the Prig King Shrimp. One of our guests said her Pad Thai noodles were the best she ever tasted! Yum! :icon_hungry:
GracieGirl where are you? Are you here? We could all go for Thai beer and spicy steamed dumplings.

Judy, I am green with envy. Thai for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or any day. Steamed spicy dumplings, Pad Thai, I'm dying here! Have only been to TV once and loved Thai Ruby. Can't wait to get there. Eventually!

Just the mere mention of good Thai food makes me ready to eat ..... my favorite one in Grants Pass is where I eat a couple times a week!
So please tell me...... what is the nearest Village to Thai Ruby? Gotta put that in my TV-notebook :icon_hungry:

Our first Christmas without our Grandbabies and we are still stuck with a for sale sign up north. This thread however reminds me that this is the beginning of new traditions and Thai Ruby sounds like a great one for Christmas. I love that restaurant. Yum! We should all make reservations right now.

Just Susan, I'm with you. Stuck with a for sale sign and wanting to make reservations right now for Thai Ruby for Christmas 2009. Let's hope we both lose the signs and get the reservations! and toast with a Singha.:beer3:

Maybe I'll have to try Thai Ruby the next time my wife and I get to TV. I think we've eaten in almost every other restaurant in LSL except Thai Ruby.

You really should Niels. Maybe we will have to have a Wanna-be Graduation lunch there when we all are living in Paradise.
