My husband and I will be renting a home in TV, Jan-March, with a friend. Would all 3 of us be considered residents?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Only two people are allowed full "residents" privileges in a TV home. The residents can obtain a free guest membership for additional people.

That is a major problem. All three of us are avid golfers and were counting on being considered residents. A "guest membership" would mean one of us would have to spend a lot more $$$ on green fees than we were expecting to pay.
My husband and I were going to purchase the Priority Golf Membership enhancement. Could we still do that if I was designated the "guest member"?
Also, somewhere I saw that Silver Lakes (practically in our back yard) and two other courses were open to residents only. How strict are the courses with that policy?
Could our third, who is sharing the rent, just buy an additional $50 amenity pass?
Can exceptions be made? Any other clarifications or suggestions? Thanks!

I can tell you this. My best friend is a starter at the executive golf courses. The starters were recently instructed that they were to "absolutely not" allow anybody without a resident ID cart to play. No exceptions.

Jan,
Sorry, but, that doesn't make sense. Guests are entitled to play on exec courses as long as they have their guest pass and matching photo ID and pay proper fees.
Now, maybe what he meant is that starters can no longer cut residents any slack if they show up and have forgotten their ID card. I've seen and experienced incidents where this happened and the starter would accept a drivers license or just trust the person's word. I'm sure in 90%+ of the cases it is an innocent moment of forgetfulness, but, I'm sure there are people who game the system to avoid paying guest or trail fees.
Greek...back to your original question... best to call your landlord or Villages Property management or golf administration offices for official answers to your questions. If your landlord transfers his/her resident ID to you and one other, then you have all privileges of a resident, including using resident only golf courses and sports pools and KatieBelles. If they only get you a simple guest id for your rental period, then you would not be entitled to resident only courses.

You can ONLY have two renters get the amenity cards, The third you have to get a guest card for. Your best bet is obviously to get the 2 amenity cards for the two that golf the most. Your landlord has to turn in his amenitys cards so you can get yours.
I recently went thru forgetting my wallet at an exec course. I was told by the starter that it is a flat out rule, you either have to have your amenity card OR you can use your drivers license and your villages id #. I can certainly understand this policy.

What if two couples were renting the same home?
Would that mean that two were considered residents and the other two were guests, even though they were all sharing in the expenses? :undecided:
