Why does it seem to be acceptable for people to bring their dogs to other peoples property to do their business. And what can be done to stop it?
I have spoken to one party several times and have been call an a-hole for bringing it up. Once a dog visits your property every other dog in the neighborhood needs to mark his territory in the same spot.

When you see them out there quickly go to manual watering station # ?.

Actually there is something you can do legally and per the Villages Community Development Districts....per their instructions it is illegal for them to allow their dogs on your lawn as it is your property. There are fines that will be imposed, but they suggest you first ask them politely not to allow there dogs on your lawn. If possible take a photo of them with their dog(all legal). If it happens again then just call the VCDD and let them know what happened and what you have done to correct the problem. The VCDD will contact this person and issue a warning. If that doesn't work then they will pay a fine.

We've had the issue and asked those who do not respect others property. We've had people rant and rave about the villages being dog friendly and that means their dogs can do their business where they want(wrong). We've had them tell us that part of our lawn is a legal right of way and they can let their dog use it as their bathroom(wrong). The right of way part of every lawn is for the utilities to gain access to pipes, cables and such for repairs. You pay the taxes right up to the curbing and are required to keep it looking neat.

Having lived from Hawaii, to California, Maine, Virginia, N. Carolina, Florida and Japan this is the only place where the "Entitled" feel that what's yours is theirs and what's theirs is theirs.

When Fifi is dancing at the door, you surely won't make it to Doggie Do Run and people complain if she goes at the mail boxes. Surely poop and scoop in the neighborhood is tolerated by most as long as it's not always and only on your yard and not theirs. What am I missing?

There are very few homes that do not have some type of a yard. Even the villas have a small backyard. You scoop the poop out of YOUR yard. If you take your dog to a common area, clean up after your dog and take it home with you to properly dispose.

When Fifi needs to go -- How about your yard. It is not just poop and scoop, the urine is very damaging and cannot be picked up I think it is disrespectful and inconsiderate to let your pets defecate on other owners property while your property remains untouched

My nephew Crosby is a dog. He is a Golden Retriever. I also have other dog friends. Here is a picture, the first water color I painted a little over a year ago of my nephew Crosby. I will tell him you think I am completely wrong on this issue. What did I say that you disagreed with? I think people should be thoughtful. Crosby's mom doesn't let him go on others yards.

We are cat lovers, but are surrounded by dog lovers, whom we are friends with. We have never had a problem with a neighbors dog. All of them have been very careful when walking their dogs and having a bag handy for the occasional poop.

I understand your problem and realize a number of people share your concern. I guess the only answer is to move to a location where dogs are not welcome. Maybe a village can be built that will be pet free.

How about in the owners yard. It may take a few times, but when fido needs to go keep him in your own yard 'till he does his business. It just takes a little training, just like he's been trained to hold it until he gets to the neighbors yard.

Last month to top dress and fix dead spots. So if you don't mind could you leave $5 each time you walk your dog from your yard to mine so I can continue bring back the dead lawn, that you complained about it looked bad. Nope our gray dog now down yet, but he never leaves our yard.

Yea I would do that but the conversation I was having with my best friend about removing his 28 year old son from a vent and saying goodbye was too important. I was counting the dogs for him to take his mind off how bad our conversation was going. So no I didn't stop what I was doing to talk to an owner who will just tell me it's just pee. That's not true for every dog, gerryann. One of mine kills the grass; the other doesn't. It has nothing to do with the landscaper. The markers don't kill the grass because they're not depositing as much urine at a time. The non markers put out much more volume, and it does kill the grass. The little dogs that pee on our grass by the curb daily never kill the grass--again, volume issue.

I agree with you; I have two small dogs that I could walk till they're worn out in our yard and they won't poop; as soon as I take them around the block, here it comes. I ALWAYS pick it up, along with the others that irresponsible dog owners don't. My camera monitored backyard has a sidewalk and peoples pet poop there a lot; a large percentage is picked up, those that don't, I will call them out.
