We have ours through The Villages Insurance with ASI. We have had very few rate increases with them over the last 8 years. With a new build check on getting sinkhole coverage with it. Most people want it if it is available for them to purchase.

I agree on both Villages Insurance and ASI. They will explain the difference between sinkholes and catastrophic ground collapse.

Tower Hill through The McDonald Agency will now write sinkhole coverage with no inspection on homes built in 2015 and 2016. Very competitive premiums. Give them a call..352-259-3825.

They also represent Federated National who will consider including sinkhole with no inspection.

We also used The Villages Insurance and ASI. It was the easiest option at the time and the cost seems reasonable. We are moving to TV full time this fall and plan on shopping around when our insurance comes up for renewal. We have home and car insurance through AAA at our home in Maryland so that is one option we will be looking at.

I purchased from Allstate-McDonald Agency at Palm Ridge Plaza off CR 466. I have never had an agent take the time to explain different coverage's to me the way they did. They also talked to me about how much coverage I needed to protect my assets. Never had an agent do that. Found them to be very professional and knowledgeable. I also like the fact they are local and I can go in their office and sit down with them if I have a question.

One year ago when purchasing a new build here I did a great deal of research for the best combination of coverages and annual premiums .
I came to the conclusion that the Villages Insurance Agency had the best package for my needs .

I can't believe that no one has mentioned USAA. I have been a member with them for over 50 years and during that time have had claims regarding auto and homeowners. The last claim was in the tornado of 2006. All of my claims have been expedited rapidly and fairly. This is a wonderful company. However membership has changed over the years. When I first joined you had to be an officer in one of the services. Family members can also join. I'm not too sure what the present requirements are.

My son has USAA for banking, insurance, and investments.

Requirements? Anybody related to service member. Now I don't know how far down the tree it goes, but wife's and children for sure.

I tried to contact them, but they didn't respond?

been a member since 1960 when I graduated from OCS. Never used another company until I moved here in 2010. They would not provide Homeowners coverage except for active duty personnel in Florida. Contacted them a few weeks ago and they still do not write in Florida. I do have auto with them. Very disappointed.

Yes. I am insured by Tower Hill through USAA.

Me too - the policy was not written by USAA and is not their coverage.

We have narrowed our home search down to about 6,000 homes. Boy is this rough. I found a manufactured home but am struggling to find a good fit on the insurance end of the deal. I don't want to have any buyer's remorse. The coverage is probably not enough in case of a total loss and I'm not sure I can live with that. I only have one bite at the apple I must get it rite. I have spoken to people I highly respect who don't worry about such things like I do but I'm coming to TV to lessen my worries and the proper insurance helps me sleep well. Thank God we never had a claim other than a small one after the Sandy Storm. I have other options with stick built house which insure better but I'm slightly overwhelmed which is not normal either. USAA won't take us with my son in the Army. Whatever, time to chill out this weekend before I seize up. It alway's works out for the best in the end.

1st.. and foremost... if you think there will actually be a sinkhole classified as such by the local, federal and etc etc.. is far reached... most times they will simply be a
"Catastrophe Event" which is not a Sink Hole.. now
most deductibles will be $50,000 or a great percent of the homes value... now add your premiums for 10 yrs. the slight chance it will be called a "Sink Hole" and the sales technique you must buy it right now you will not be offered a second change.. should be a red flag for all... why now right now... now a reasonable sale would be no sales 30 days prior to event just like flood or hurricane insurance... no insurance during the even of course... any thoughts? But ask your agent about that DEDUCTIBLE FOR SURE..

We wonder if the Villages Insurance will drop our coverage with the companies we now have for homeowners and golf cart insurance like they did with the Villages health insurance, if the Villages gets a better offer from other companies to do business with. Anyone else heard these rumors?
