**** REUNITED 4/15/16 at 4pm. *****
LOST from Village of Collier - Antilles Court on 4/13/16 approx 2pm
Italian Greyhound (15lbs.), male, grey in color no collar/no tags.
Last spotted Wed. 4/13/16 late afternoon RUNNING northbound near Evans Prairie Country Club.
The dog's name is "PAOLO" but is skittish and will probably run away. PLEASE CALL OWNER GIA at 585-478-2442 if spotted. All notifications to agencies have been made -- just need boots on the ground + all eyes looking for a sighting of the little guy.
If you know anything about this breed, they are extremely fast and will run until they collapse, so we need to get a good location to help narrow the search. Please share info with your friends and neighbors. If you can assist with search, call or text Gia and swing by to pick up fliers.
Thank You!

Please be sure to let vets, pounds, the TV radio station know as well. TOTV is a narrow, but interested and concerned, audience. I will certainly do my best to spread the word.
Best wishes on finding Paolo!

Even though this baby was lost in Colliar... It could be anywhere in The Villages. Please check your own neighborhoods and if you have your garage open.. check there. When you are golfing... Keep your eyes. open.
Call the owner as I'm told this boy is skiddish and most likely won't come to you!
Please contact: Gia Fiorino (2162 Antilles Ct) 585-478-2442
or her father: John Fiorino 352-259-4465
There have been no sightings today... so we are hoping someone has been able to catch him and maybe doesn't know how to find the owner.

Thanks Charlene. I've been running between Collier/Hillsborougj/Fernandina/Lake Deaton and Tamarind Grove yesterday and today and no sightings BUT handed out lots of flyers and talked to all starters at golf courses along the way.
Owner sitting at a different postal station each day to hand out flyers 2 till 5pm.
Angie & I have had this happen SO MANY times in the past two weeks that we have it down to a science. Not everyone does FB or online search or even listens to AM radio BUT everyone checks mail!!!
All bases have been covered and then some but we need all eyes looking for a sighting to give us a chance for owner to catch him.
Thanks again!

Thanks Bare. We just need a sighting to help focus our efforts and search teams in that area. Please help spread the word any way you can.
I have an email flyer with photo if anyone would like one - - just PM me and I'll send it to you.
Thanks all!

PAOLO was just found!!!! He was hit by a Corvette at 4pm crossing Buena Vista near Evans Prairie CC. The vehicle kept going. His owner was notified by a bystander who had received the flyer via email. He pulled it up on his phone and Gia (owner) was only 5 mins away. The two undentified men stayed with PAOLO until Gia got there.
Gia has been at Buffalo Ridge Emer Clinic with PAOLO who is undergoing treatment, but expected to recover.
Again it takes a Village -- especially to get an Iggy home in 2+ days
Thanks everyone that pitched in!!!

Please everyone, these searches are exhausting and a tag can speed the process when a dog is found.

I know that everyone is relieved to hear that this fella is going to live. What a scary, awful day for him and his owners. Many thanks to all who helped with this from all of us who know what it is to love an animal.

Thank God! We saw two men stop their golf carts and carry the pup from buena vista to the grass. The dog looked injured and no corvette to be seen. How fast must he have been going to just hit the dog. I am so happy to hear that paolo is going to be ok and kudos to the two guys who stopped and helped.

Update from owner, Gia that PAOLO is home from the vet. This is the latest information on his condition:
"Mother and baby are home and doing great! Paolo's injuries are superficial and the healing has begun. He can walk (gingerly) and even jumped up on my bed! Now we are going to take a nap . . ."
Thanks everyone!

I love happy endings, who doesn't? I have tears in my eyes.
Thanks for letting us know Paolo is home from the vet and for posting the picture.
I do believe that Karma will catch up with corvette cretin.

I too am so glad to hear about Paolo.
The corvette's driver's conscience will catch up with him if he has one. There is always that problem as someone people do not seem to have one or it is very tiny compared with their ego, or worse, baser drives.
