Combining the talents of people from many Villages Performance Groups,
The Villages Musical Theater is proud to present the TONY Award winning Gershwin musical “Crazy For You” on April 23, 24, and 25 at The Savannah Center. “Crazy For You” can best be described as a good old-fashioned, big Broadway musical, with lots of great music, big dance numbers, and a very, very funny story. The score includes a number of Gershwin classics, including “I Got Rhythm”, “Embraceable You”, “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, and “Someone To Watch Over Me”. First staged on Broadway in 1992, it won both the TONY and Drama Desk Award as Best Musical.
The all-Villagers cast is lead by Carter Poust and Sue Schuler in the lead roles backed by 55 veterans of the Savannah stage. The show combines the talents of many Villages performing groups. It’s cast includes people who have performed in many musicals in the past; dancers from Music In Motion, Evolution Dance, Dance Fusion and other groups; singers from the Villages Pops Chorus, Village Voices, and other choruses; and musicians from many of the Bands of The Villages. Bill Davis directs the production, and Helene Yelverton is the choreographer. The 20-plus piece live orchestra will be conducted by Jean Butler. Tickets are $24 for residents, available at all Villages Box Office locations and online. Part of the proceeds support local charities and scholarship.
