Well, we did it and now we will be heading to The Villages. It took a while but, the end (and the lowered price) will justify the means. We can not wait untill we can start our new lives at "Americas Favorite Home Town"

Everything happened so fast that we forgot that we have to have a place to live until we decide what we want to buy. So, we have decided to rent for awhile just to let the dust settle.

If any of you have, or know of anyone that would have a home for rent for 6/12 months. Please have them contact us with a private email. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hope to see you all at Crispers. Thanks in advance,

beartrack

Congratulations on the sale of your home and welcome to Paradise. I am so happy for you and I am sure you won't believe how wonderful it is to live here full time.

Me and Sweetie and Helene are now 6 month owners and will return for a long spell the first week of January. We are thinking all of the time about making it our permanent home.

Bear I am so happy for you and jealous at the same time. Maybe I will be the next one to post that my house has sold.

Congratulations on the next phase of your adventure called Life.

Congratulations and we are also jealous. Just this week again, we were the bridesmaid and not the bride - they chose the townhome instead of our house - what was wrong with those buyers. Anyway we are excited that you are making it to TV. Have fun shopping for your new home.:coolsmiley:

Terrific news Beartrack. Congratulations. Seems like in the past couple of weeks quite a few people have managed to get contracts on their homes. I'm taking that as a good sign and hoping that we follow in your footsteps very soon. And Mikark, its fine with me if you are the next one to post that your house has sold, just so long as I can be the one after you..lol

I do find it amazing that so many contracts have been signed in the couple of weeks before the holidays. I was under the impression that things got terribly slow at this time of year.

When our Realtor asked me if I wouldnt prefer just waiting to list our home until after the Holidays, I said NO!! Today will be fine with me Holidays or no holidays, you just never know!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SALE !! :coolsmiley:

A Christmas wish for all of us who would like to join you asap. "May the market pick up and our houses one and all become the cherished homes of their next owners."

WTG Bear,

Lets see - nONIE, Scottke, Mikark, Donna, & myself are awaiting action. ANY action will suit me. We're all trying to sell. And I'm sure I missed several. GET ME/US A :cus: CONTRACT!!!

Well, you can subtract us from the "under contract" crew and put us back into the group searching for a buyer. While we had emerged from attorney review relatively painlessly and were thus "under contract", our buyers got cold feet and now want out of the contract. We are still putting up a nominal fight hoping that they get over their fear of the economy but our attorney says if people really want out, they'll get out and fighting them only makes the attorneys rich.

Congrats to those who have sold and good luck to those of us still trying.

Thanks. Yes, this has been quite a low for us after getting mentally prepared to make the move in January.

Make it a scotch, single malt, straight up. Leave the bottle.

Thank you one and all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. All of the amenities aside, It is comments like yours that have convinced us that living among folks like you, is the right decision for us. We are chomping at the bit to get there and meet you all face to face, finally!!!!

NJ Blue. You have all the sympathy and Johnny Walker Black that I can muster up. Your post though has us worried more than you can imagine. Sure hope it does not turn out to be the "KISS OF DEATH" for us too!!!!!

I think sellers are starting to be more realistic about the pricing of their homes. And that is a good thing .. there are lots of bargains right now in TV.

Sorry to hear your buyers' had "buyers remorse" and backed out. When we were sell our house this past summer our buyer had to sell his house and he had 2 buyers who could not come up with the extra funds required at the last minute by the lender AT THE CLOSING TABLE, and both deals fell through as our sale continued in limbo. Its discouraging but you must keep a positive outlook and reagrdless of the concessions you make and how much they will hurt, once closing occurs you need to look forward and focus on the positives such as moving to TV.

AS for BEARTRACK, great news and just in time to celebrate as part of teh holiday season!!!

Congrats Beartrack! I can't wait to join those of you already lucky enough to have sold your house!!!! NJBlue- that is just awful!!! I can't even imagine the downer that must have been. Keep your chin up!! There is a buyer out there for your house, this just wasn't the right one! :sigh:

Thanks all for the kind words of encouragement.

I think I know now why our deal may have fallen through. I finally got around to watching the 60 Minutes episode that was on last Sunday night. It was a very dark, doom & gloom look at the housing market and economy in general. I suspect that our buyer watched this and that is what caused him to be lying in bed awake at 2 AM as he said he was. The next day is when he killed the deal.

Darn sensationalist media! I'm sure that there must have been a balancing view to this, but they did not present the other side. Now, I'm the one lying awake at 2 and 3 and 4.
