I swore I'd never frequent this facility again. O well. Had dinner at TDS last night. New owner. New menu. Great service. The food was very good too. Some things do change for the better.

I've heard that there is a new owner, and that things were good there. Will have to give it a try. Thanks for the heads up.

Four of us ate at Tierra last night (12/27). Service and food excellent. Happy hour until 7pm. Baked goods all done on site and excellent from the bread to the eclairs for dessert (offered free).

Nice to return after many of us said we would never go to a restaurant operated by Vinnie.

Understand it took many days of labor to clean up the mess left behind by the former operator (Vinnie).

Welcome back Tierra del sol to our list of eateries.:eclipsee_gold_cup:

I have taken note. Thank you for taking the time to tell us. We will be looking forward to going there. Happy New Year Y'all!.

We are taking down decorations here in Ohio today, a day that used to always leave me sorta down. Today I am looking forward to heading south again to Paradise!

See you on the sixth!

Went there for breakfast the day the new owner took over December 1st and have returned twice since, for dinner. Just keeps getting better and better. New owner Nick and son are doing a great job. They have been very busy cleaning up the dust left behind and have made some very tasty improvements and changes to menu.

Waitress told us this evening that they had a great turnout for New Year's Eve and heard no complaints from patrons who had a wonderful time.

Let's hope that the new owner succeeds as we really want a good place to go in the neighborhood. TDS has the potential to be like the original Silverlake Restaurant that many of us older residents still miss. Good food, reasonably priced with a friendly owner/manager and a staff that treats customers the way that makes you want to go back.

This is good information. I went to Tierra once and crossed it off our list.
Now we'll try it again. Thanks!

Went to Tierra del Sol for dinner tonight.... place is brighter, cleaner, service was great, food was good, and (for a limited time) they are including the chef's homemade eclairs as dessert for everyone.

They seem to do a few off-menu specials everyday but still have the old TDS menu. The waitress said they are working on a revamped menu.

It was definitely much improved over my one and only prior visit.

Thanks for the tip, gemorc.

Ate there last night - brought our fussy neighbors - all had a great meal. Homemade bread was great - eclairs for dessert were wonderful. Happy hour until 7:00. Heard they are getting a new menu with more Greek/Italian can't wait to try. They closed at 8:00 for some major cleaning and were re-opening maybe noonish today. I think it could be the Villlages best kept secret. When you can get into someplace and get decent food and good service during high season - hurrah to them! Wishing them nothing but the best and I know that we will be back soon!

Went back again on Friday for their fish fry. Was pleasantly surprised to see them almost full. Ended up eating at a table in the bar instead of going on the wait list for table in the dining room. Servers were prompt and very nice. Both of us had the fish special and it arrived very quickly and piping hot. Woud definately recommend. Had the yummy eclairs for dessert again. Did not have the new menus yet - but I am sure we will go back for dinner again real soon.:icon_hungry:

we are renting just down the street from the restaurant. Took my brother and wife there for Sunday b'fast buffett a week back. Was wiped away by the great biscuits in the sausage biscuits and gravy. The heck with the gravy, just hit the biscuits. You can tell the new owner is a baker, for sure.

We were there last Friday evening. The food was good and the service was too. One of the new owners came to our table after we were served the free Eclaire and chatted for a few minutes - he is from Connecticut.

Will do again.

Ate at Tierra last Saturday and enjoyed it again. They now take reservations and vocalist Aimee Reese was there with her nice mix of songs. She visits folks at their tables and takes song requests. Owner told us that new menu would be introduced on Monday. We went this evening and the new Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus were there. Peter has introduced several Greek items and tonight's dessert (free) was a cream puff. He also had NY style cheese cake available as he promised us last Saturday. Got the Cheese cake to take home.

We all enjoyed our meals and had a chance to visit with Peter and receive a first hand statement about what he wants to do with this restaurant. He wont go with the highest priced items that are available in some restaurants. Sadly some of them arrive on truck already pre-cooked and are just heated or microwaved for serving. He will have a varied menu with several unique items and he is a firm believer that TV clients want tasty home cooked like food at a reasonable price. He does not scrimp on the servings. He is usually available to speak with his customers and welcomes all feedback.

Sure hope he makes it here, because he knows his business and unlike some others who thought all they had to do was open the door and shovel in the money with no thoughts given to good food, reasonable prices and good service. Those failures are well known.

Looking forward to trying his Friday fish items soon.

I went with a friend and we experienced good food, reasonable prices, good service, and a surprise dessert - a chocolate eclair which was delicious.

After reading the posts here I thought I'd give it a try.
Was not what I hoped for,my eggplant parm was OK,wife's crab cakes were fair at best. Service was bad, couldn't get the order right,I ordered a Caesar salad was served a Greek salad, couldn't find waitress to have her correct it.
Had to request bread 3 times, also had ordered meat ball with dinner had to remind server again. The place wasn't half full.

Our group of ten went back to TDS for dinner again last night mainly because everyone enjoyed it the last two times we were there and also for the eclair!

The all you can eat fish fry started with one lonely fish on your plate that was mostly breading and wet fish underneath. They did fill up the plate later when asked.

Other entrees were not much better. Some Greek items were also being served.
The eclair was replaced with a pumpkin desert.

Not many of our group left happy - big change from the last two times there.

Could be a Friday the 13th hex or maybe eclair deprivation.

Had dinner at Tierra with our neighbors last week and we all enjoyed our dinner. Husband had the tilapia with crab stuffing said it was the best he has had in TV, I had spanikopita (sp?) - Greek spinach pie - and thoroughly enjoyed it. Neighbors had pot roast and liver and onions and they both thought they were very good. Waitress was very nice - and even brought us a second loaf of the yummy bread. We were served cream puffs for dessert - yum. As you can tell - we had another great experience and I have nothing bad to say. I really hope that you all will return, and others will give it a chance. :icon_hungry:
