Does anyone have first hand knowledge regarding using Sun Kool to replace their existing HVAC system? The technician said our 12 y/o system is on its last legs and we should seriously consider replacing it - with one of their Carrier systems of course. The price he quoted seemed high and I wanted to get some feedback before shopping around further. Thanks folks! :-)

I realize that I am not answering your question directly. That's because I don't know anything about Sun Kool. I just wanted to recommend that you contact Chuck Farrell AC and Heating.

I found Chuck Farrell through recommendations here on TOTV and also from our neighbors. We have been very happy with his company's work and professionalism. We bought a pre-owned home that was several years old and have been having Chuck Farrell for routine maintenance and check-ups which is all we have needed so far. We are glad we found him.

You might want to do a search here on TOTV where you should be able to find other posters' comments.

Chuck Farrell's company phone number is 352-753-9497.

Get three estimates search Sunkool there have been many that use them. You won't know if they are high until you get another estimate

Try DiSantis, I found them to be the best and reasonable and honest.

We also used DeSantis after receiving a very high quote from Sun Kool. We also talked to Chuck Farrell who declined to quote our project because it was beyond his scope. He did tell us that Sun Kool was trying to oversell us.

We have Sunshine Air and we really like them. They quoted us for a patio villa $4,500 for a new unit. Hope that helps. You can Google Sunshine Air for their number.

FYI We just purchased a service contract with Broward Factory Service. $223.63 a YEAR. Covers Labor and Parts on all our appliances. Your home has to be less than 10 years old.

According to Angies List their pricing is a B, or higher than some others, otherwise an A. Chuck Ferrells was rated A for everything. We use Munns, who installed our system and are happy with them. The only concern is now some are wanting to come out twice per year for cooling and heating and nearly doubling the price. Not sure about that one.

First owners Had sunshine for the first five years. Came out 13 times to fix non cooling, and a leak in the system since day one of new purchase. Cost over years was $1865.35. We purchased home, without this knowledge. Air stopped working third week in. We have sunkool at our other homes.Sunkool First visit found same leak damage to wood structure that unit sits on ( we will have to have replaced). $165.00 and 2 hours later leak fixed, no other problems in 18 months. I would bid Sunkool and match apples to apples with two other companies.

Check with Patrick's Heating and Cooling for another estimate. They recently did some extensive work for me and I found their prices to be very good.

Thats because most parts are uncovered without signing a contract.
