I know there is a way to get to Lowe's, etc. on a dirt path on the historic side via golf cart, but where in heck is the dirt path? In uddah woids, how do you get to it? And is there was to get to Wally World from there?

Thanks!

Cross the golf cart bridge....take a left....pass dog park/pond and archery area....

Stay on this road until you pass the very last entrance/exit gate (i think there are three) on your left....once you have passed the last gate....you will pass about 3-4 homes on your left...go slow as the WHITE post's on your left come up very fast....

Once you find the white posts, turn left and actually exit Villages property. Turn RIGHT....pass several medical office buildings and you will then see a dirt path....follow this all the way until you see Lowes.

You can then access Bealls as well...

to get to Walmart.....go past Bealls....turn left and head towards small plaza....they have changed the location of the dirt path entrance and have paved some of it....but drive around that plaza area (used to be a Cold Stone Creamery there) and you should find the 2nd dirt path.....

Sorry my directions are not very good, nor do they sound precise without street names etc....but they are real....

hope it helps...

Make sure your golf cart insurance will pay if you leave The Villages community.

I still have to figure out how to get out of the community before I worry about the insurance issue (but, yes, it will lol). I can almost follow Cassie's directions but not quite.

Thank you, I've been wondering about how to get there myself!! I'll print out the directions as I don't wanna be driving in circles, but u gave good directions,BTW how long does it take to drive there from LSL?

A lot depends on how fast your golf cart is. I can usually get to LSL from the historic side in about 15-20 minutes. I haven't tried Cassie's directions yet, but my guess is about 10 minutes or less if I understand them correctly. So, figure 30-40 minutes.

Cassie's directions are right on - except there are only two gates, one right past the archery area and the next one past the ball fields on the left. The second gate is Boone Ct. If you take a right on Boone it takes you past my mother's house and about a block further is the famous Tiki Bar at the Orange Blossom Hills CC Pool.

If in doubt, once you leave TV property behind the medical buildings (there is an old cart gate there that is disabled) watch for other carts and follow or backtrack one - a cart will usually go by in a few minutes as it is a well traveled route to Wal-Mart.

And, no dirt - just sand like everywhere else in Fla.

It has been bugging me ALL day....that there were only two gates...not three!! Thanks Chuck!!

So go past the second gate....and watch for the white post!!!

Red....if you really can't get it....I will send you my schedule and you can follow me over there...once you know it you will be just fine!!

We call it the African Safari ride (VERY bumpy)....but the BEST part is that you can also get to Cracker Barrel by golf cart!!! LOVE their breakfast....hhmmmmm....I think they open at 6am.....may have to take the African Safari ride in the morn!

Don't have the time this week, but if you want to do the African Safari ride next week for breakfast, shout out.

Drag hand over to Number 1 on map. Then click on street, then click on aerial then zoom in. Go across the cart path bridge and will give you an idea and allows you to see what Cassie was referring to.

16....this is amazing!! Just to make sure I am looking at the right area...I followed Paradise drive (scrolling with my mouse) on the Ariel View. Once you pass the second gate from the Bridge at Boone....I can see the little entrance/exit just passed the 4th house on the left. The entrance/exit is a little golf cart round about.

NOW...you pass the medical buildings while on NE 86th Drive. This turns into the African Safari dirt road! I had no idea the dirt path actually had a street name. It is still 86th Drive...I also notice that looking from the Ariel view at the large space of empty land (also known as the Desert in our family) there are several other "paths" that have actual names. We have seen the make shift paths...but never thought they had street names.

This makes me think that there will be REAL pathways in the future?? Makes me say hhmmmm......

I have been told that "technically" the path referred to is not legal. It is not truly a golf cart access road but I don't know of anyone who has gotten a ticket YET !!
