Couldn't agree more. They sounded great. Even wanted to keep playing past 9:00PM but was told they could not.

What a terrific group of young people! The music was wonderful and people seemed to be having a great time. Husband commented how nice they looked since we seldom see suits and ties in The Villages.

Awesome young group that performed some great classic 50's & 60's hits. They should be here at least once a month in our squares. One of the best we've seen in the 13 years here in The Villages.

Not a doo wop fan at all, but I thought this was the best band I've seen here. Watch out, Rocky.

Just a heads up about tomorrow night, Tuesday. I know Rocky & the Rollers will be at LSL, but if you're like me and have seen them 30 times and are tired of been caught up in a mob of people. Go to Brownwood and see Brian Carl and Company.
He's actually a hair dresser that works at the shop my wife goes to, Victoria's. We saw him last month at LSL and I thought he was great for just himself and a band in the box. He had a real good variety from Elvis to rockers. He's like a male Petrina, if you can imagine that.

Johnny Dee and the Starlights were crowd pleasers again last night at Spanish Springs. High energy on a hot night. Highlight for me was their performance of Buddy Holly's Peggy Sue Got Married.

Rocky has great musicians but only Al Morris can sing. And he only sings 25% of the time. Johnny Dee is unbelievable and he has 3 other female singers that can sing. Yes, Johnny Dee's events are going to be packed. Spanish Springs was packed and of course they sang the first 3 hours with everybody BEHIND them because Spanish Springs has NO SHADE in the front. Hello..... it's July in Florida with 112 degree heat index. I am going to see if some of my social Clubs can book them in the Air Conditioning. Great Group.

I called them for our club event, they are at the very high end cost wise.

Bob's Rock Shop costs $2,000. Rocky/Rollers are about twice as much (as they have lots of band members.)
How much was Johnny Dee talking compared to the above bands.
They have to travel from Orlando remember and not just drive over a few blocks.

Those fees are incorrect, by alot

Well, since you seem to know without giving any info I will just say the two fees I stated were paid by my social club this year for those performers to play for 2 hours in a Rec Center.
It was not 4 hours in the Square. If I say the sky is blue you will never need to go look. Okay.

A beautiful night and a nice crowd. Johnny Dee and the Starlights' last set tonight included a rendition of Buddy Holly's Oh, Boy! and Roy Orbison's I Got A Woman. Then a couple of slow tunes to get some cheek to cheek on the dance floor. Fun entertainment.

Saw them first the first time last night. Great group. Really enjoyed them. I think I saw where they were playing at Brownwood September 3. I think the entertainment at the squares has improved.

When the snowbirds get back you are going to have to get there early if you want a seat to see this group. They are now our favorites that play at the squares.

They announced they are playing a Christmas Show in December at Mt. Dora Live Theatre.
They are now regulars in the squares for now. They are one of the best groups I have seen anywhere.
The sound system at Sumter is really bad even though they just made improvements. I am not sure why the Squares do not rate a first class setup. I bet they sound great with their own gear. We have them booked for our Social Club.

I talked to a sound guy and mentioned the poor sound. He got out his IPad and made some improvements. That is basically the control panel now.

The sound system has not gotten any better. Was at Sumter to watch Johnny Dee and the Starlights tuesday a week ago. I set center stage towards the back and Johnny's mic was awful. It sounded like they had way too much bass on it. Made him sound like he was down in a tunnel. I have been to every one of their performances so I know what he sounds like. I don't know if it is the system or the guy setting it up
