frannieb... there is no single championship golf club fee that covers everything. Could you ask hubby exactly what he heard on TV?

Frannie.

WE could try to explain, but we all sound like raving maniacs. It is better than you could ever expect.

Come down and do the lifestyle visit. NO ONE will pressure you. Than you too will go around and try to explain what this beautiful place is all about!!

Membership to the championship golf clubs is free. Meaing you can go there for dinner. Like a social membership to private Country Clubs you may be aware of. If you want to play golf or use the pool there is an annual membership fee. However it is very reasonable. I pay more per month for my private club in Northern VA then the annual fee for all 12 championship courses in The Villages. You still pay a greens fee when you play there, but again it is very reasonable. Go to www.thevillages.com and foolow the links to golf and you can see all the fees.

I think he's confusing "all residents are members of the championship courses" with free golf. The fees for play on the CC's can be found here: www.golfthevillages.com/tee-times/golfrates-fall08.asp (http://www.golfthevillages.com/tee-times/golfrates-fall08.asp)
currently the fall rates are up.

The fee for the executive courses www.golfthevillages.com/executive-golf/ (http://www.golfthevillages.com/executive-golf/) is free for residents and they either pay a trail fee (yearly or daily) or walk.

You can also get a priorty membership which is explained here www.golfthevillages.com/tee-times/membership.asp (http://www.golfthevillages.com/tee-times/membership.asp) and it covers the yearly trail fee, cheapest golf rate etc.

The main golf page is here: www.golfthevillages.com/index.asp (http://www.golfthevillages.com/index.asp)

Hope this helps.

Maybe it's just me, but all your links seem to go to this thread, "Champion golf club new home owners fee".
Operator error on my part, probably.:beer3:

Kayaker - I tried to fix them but nothing is working. Cut and paste will work. I'll keep looking into it.

Admins???? Help please. If i type them in they work but if I cut and paste into my reply they don't. I've tried using the hyperlink icon above but nothing is working.

Thanks - Russ

12ridehd has it correct. Only membership in the clubs is free and that's because they are open to the public and being a member has no special privilege.

Executive golf is free except for trail fee. Championship Golf is covered by priority membership and even that only gives you a DISCOUNTED greens fee.

Life in the Villages is great whether you play golf or not and the cost for priority fee is excellent IF you are a golfer who plays at least 3 to 4 times a week. The more you play, the more savings you realize. We added me to the priority membership just to give me access to the Country Club pools because you can't use them unless you have a pool membership attached to a priority golf membership.

thanks ...I figured that out after I checked the golf site. I think hubby misunderstood the ad.

I do not have priority golf membership, but did purchase pool priority membership for approx. $250 for the year for the family.
