Harlow was at Doggie Doo Run Run today in the back field. I saw them coming in my direction so sat down on the eastern swing thinking that I would present the least threat that way. All was well until Joe came up in the golf cart and Harlow started barking at Joe in the golf cart. No teeth were bared so Joe kept his cool and Harlow's owner managed to calm Harlow down.
I talked to Joe about my previous encounter a few weeks before with Harlow. Joe is a long term employee of Doggie Doo Run Run.
I guess we just have to use some wisdom about how we interact with dogs. It is a dog park after all.
Harlow did check me out while I was on the swing but the owner called the dog away.
I still carry golf balls to throw in case of a problem but these will not do much good if the dog is really close to me to begin with.
Harlow looks like a light brown good sized boxer-pit bull mix. I did get a very good look at Harlow's head when the dog checked out me while I was on the swing.
Harlow was there without his/her friend the sweet Jade. These two pit bull mixes played a lot before with one another. Harlow looks like a puppy from the size of the paws.

Here is a link to my previous experiences with Harlow at Doogie Doo Run Run from April 1, 2016 onward.
There were some nasty comments made and I stupidly responded in kind so it got closed.
I have been a customer at Doggie Doo Run Run (DDRR) since January 2007 and find it a very well managed dog park most of the time. But I do want to keep other DDRR users informed about my problems with Harlow.
Employee Joe did see Harlow's owner needs time to work out the problems Harlow has around certain people. It is a skittish dog as Joe told me yesterday. If men just give Harlow some space the dog might get through this training. I have not seen Harlow have any problems with women.

Harlow's owner is getting a lot better about controlling Harlow and removing him/her when a situation might arise.
Yesterday, I talked to a man with a woman pet owner. Harlow had been barking at him but the guy seemed cool about it. I kept my distance from Harlow until they left the big field section of Doggie Doo Run Run.
The couple were fun and I enjoyed talked to them about dog parks in the Villages as well as feisty chihuahuas. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/1119317-post12.html

Apparently Harlow has gender issues which are being discussed a lot these days. You would think that a dog..because dogs are smart, would have more sense.
I would like to tell Harlow to leave you alone and not get his knickers in a hitch because you are a kind, and good person with a very calm demeanor...but I don't speak dog and only a smattering of French and some English.
I would not let aggressive dogs into my dog park if I owned one. I am tired of people telling me that it must be they have had issues in their earlier life. I think that people need to get with the program or lose their privileges. AND DOGS TOO.

I do think that Doggie Doo Run Run (DDRR) is losing a little business because of Harlow. Not sure why they have not booted the dog. It often depends on how nice the owner of the dog is. Kind of a case-by-case policy. Which is fine as this is a private dog park and they can apply their rules however they want. I was not going to push the matter however in case I upset the DDRR owners.
Harlow does have a serious problem with men but seems to be getting better very slowly.
The Villages' dog parks I hope are different and apply the rules in a general manner.
