maybe everybody knows what they need to know.
I called the entertainment office today to find out what is the venue for NYE on the squares. They sais there are no tables to be sold or already sold. It is from 5-9 as per any other evening of the week. Any of the picnic tables around the squares are first come first served per usual.
I asked if we were allowed to bring card tables and set up on the lawn around the squares as in years past. The response was...we are not giving permission to do so.....and we are not saying it is not allowed.
Sounds to me like just do as you have in the past and there will be no problem....except for the fact they are stopping at 9 PM which is the real bone of contention and rather short sited of the new powers that be in the entertainment group...reflects the small thinking of the new management.

Once again the will of the few overwhelming the desires of the many.....I so much liked the way of life where the majority rules.

Happy New Year however you choose to do it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong............ it's my understanding that there are many Recreation Centers in TV..... one for each Village ?

How come all those Rec Centers don't have NYE parties ? :pepper2:

in our village there has been a NYE party every year since built. It is purely a function of the village residents whether to have one or not. Paid for in total by the participants.....catered....bar....band...etc.

I should have figured that one out..... it makes sense !

I guess what I don't understand is WHY don't more Villages (or Clubs) do that....... get together and sponsor their own special celebrations, and not have to depend on TV Management for their entertainment :pepper2: :beer3:

I suspect that part of it is that 1) many already had a Xmas party, which may have blown everyone's budget, and 2) a hxxx of a lot of folks are "up north," so many groups have a smaller population. That said, I'll explain that my own street, which had a great in-the-street party last year, elected not to repeat because of 2, above. But, there's already amove afoot to make it a bi-ennial affair - that is, every other year! We'll see.
Hope you and your neighbors have dug out or melted out without flooding away?

The rec centers are available, all you have to do is set up your party.

THANKS for the explanation! I live in a valley and we have not had lots of snow this winter..... just brief storms that turn into rain, then slush, then black ice, then melt off, then rain......... just enough to irritate and make me daydream of your balmy breezes and tropical sunsets ;)

I now realize there ARE other options for NYE and other celebrations, other than depending on TV Management! :coolsmiley:

Not true. You need to reserve and pay for the room by the hour and if you choose certain Rec. Centers, like Laurel Manor, you must have Hacienda barf cater the food.
