Made my 11 gallon level on Blanca's birthday today and perhaps the last time I see Linda for a while as she is retiring at the end of the week.

Blanca wanted me to schedule a whole blood donation appointment 7 days from now because my iron blood content is kind of high. I have been giving platelets for a few months every two-to-three weeks.

I may do that if it is allowed next time I go there.

They have some new movies as I got to watch almost all of the movie Olympus Has Fallen and they have White House Down too in their new movie section.

Thanks. One Blood has blood mobiles out and about here in the Villages quite often as well as has a permanent physical location in Spanish Plaines Shopping Center. People should go by the One Blood Villages Office in Spanish Plaines if they want to say a short goodbye to Linda. She is retired as a paid employee on Friday, 05/06/2016 but will be volunteering after a vacation of sorts.

I have seen her at Florida Blood Centers and then One Blood on-and-off since 2007.

I'll be there Friday for a platelet donation, I'll tell her Good Bye then. Glad I'll get to see her.

I suppose they allow whole blood donations to get the iron level down even if the One Blood donor appointment feature does not let me make such a date?

My iron levels have been increasing from the platelet donations and it would also allow me to give three bags (takes about 125 minutes on machine) instead of the two when my iron is too high. That would be for the platelet appointment I have in mid-May.

They have some new T-shirts that are a nice color.

I have been tracking my iron counts and recording them on my computer just to see if I can find any reason for them to go up. So far, they have remained about the same at 14.5. They always take 2 units now though. I haven't done 3 units in about 6 months. Maybe that's the link. Anyway, I just keep going in and they keep doing their thing.

A new T-shirt would be nice. I told them that we need a T-shirt like the cancer T-shirts that say something like " I Survived Donating Blood, You Can Too".

I may pop in tomorrow to say Goodbye to Linda for a while and check on what Blanca said about donating blood Monday to get the iron count down. Last Monday's was 16.1. 14.5 is the number I have got often on my iron count however. You are right that it might be the three units I have been doing quite often. Iron Disorders Institute:: Home (http://www.irondisorders.org/)

12.4 though sometimes shows up or lower and then I have to go and eat something rich with iron and come back the next day for another attempt.

And I think they might have got onto my 224 613 Project by Googling Taltarzac725 or through my real name. I have no concrete proof of this just a feeling I have had in many places here in the Villages as well as in DC last May of 2015. I have no documents to back this up. I have been going to the One Blood facilities on US 441/27 since 2007.

I have been working on this 224 613 Project since January 1991 but had not started using these numbers until mid-1993 so it is about time that all that effort has some fruit.

I will have to wait until May 30th to donate blood and probably at one of the blood mobiles. I am going to do whole blood until I like the numbers for my iron count.

I cancelled all my May platelet appointments at the Villages' US 441/27 location.

Tal, saying you are a giving fellow is an understatement. If folks everywhere did what you do there would be no lack of blood for emergencies and many lives would be saved.

I have learned so many good things about you just by reading this forum for many years and count you among the friends I have never met. You and Bogie Shooter are at the top of my list to meet in person.

Thank you for your unselfish donations of your life blood.

I got to tell Linda Good Bye yesterday when I donated. My iron count was down to 14.1, so I can keep on donating Platelets until I hit the 22 donation limit (I hope). I'll hit the 10 gallon mark next visit. I've only lived here 2 1/2 years, so that's not bad.

I gave Linda a hug when I popped by on the way to the Lady Lake Public Library.

I have been donating at a One Blood facility or when it was called Florida Blood Center's since 2007 and Linda was there.

I have done 11 platelet donations since 12-14-2015 so it is time to work on getting the iron count down.

It must have been some retirement party.

I was walking by accompanied by Charlie while looking for Linda and peaked into the donation room and saw what looked like someone being mooned. Kind of the general tone of the nation perhaps? Not sure if the moon was shown at me or at someone else in the room.

They must have been having fun though if they are reliving their wild college, high school and junior high school days. Last time I was mooned was by a fellow 5th grader Kathy Davis in Reno, Nevada in 1971 or so. My re-action both times has been kind of mild shock mainly because it seemed so out-of-place both times. Kathy Davis was on top of the roof of one of our elementary school buildings while I rode around the buildings on a bicycle. A complete surprise to me and a rather ugly eyeful. Same with yesterday. Out-of-place and quite a surprise.

I know some doctors and nurses as well as phlebotomists are very earthy but....

Lots of us Villagers donate blood, graciegirl. But, thanks!!!
