Does anyone actually use the phone books that are delivered to your house? We trash ours upon delivery.
What a waste of resources in the computer age.

Phone books are prepared by media companies for the primary purpose of selling advertising space to businesses run by people who still think consumers rely on phone books.

Love having ours! If it weren't for them we might be limited to shopping for goods and services within the bubble!
Also don't waste time with internet searches for something 'cause the directory permits one to page directly to the needed topic!
Just wish the print fonts weren't so small! lolololol

We haven't used a phone book in years. It's so much easier to Google it.

I'm with you njbchbum. We always use the phone book together with the internet. Pleasantly surprised with the phone book results often. Many old school business owners still use their advertising money the old school way.

I use the Internet but Mom uses the phone books!
I also got a great idea on how to use old phone books on TOTV. The poster used the old phone books to display items better on top of the kitchen cupboards! What a great idea!

That's what I use mine for. I can see my driftwood better when it sets higher on the phone books on my upper kitchen cupboards.

What's really a shame, is all the $$ that business owners waste taking out advertising in these worthless books

I use the phone book to search for folks that may have moved here that I know. The city and town feature is why we use it plus it doesn't take a lot of room to store.

I have a couple of friends that have businesses in TV and they have half page presence in yellow pages. The ad includes an offer for a significant discount if the yellow page ad is mentioned.
After three years and no takers they feel certain the yellow page ad is really not beneficial to them or potential customers.
Phone books are the last remnants of that breed of dinosauers.

I don't object to one "official" Villages phone book; but additional phone books just waste trees.
I used the website Bogie provided to ask that only The Villages book be delivered. We'll see.

Yep.
I use the phone books (all of them...not just the developers), internet, other people's suggestions and this site to look for a company.
If these phone books were really 'worthless,' they would not exist.
That's the funny result of free enterprise and capitalism.

'a couple' is sure different from chatbrat's 'all'! ;)
I love those YP Coupons - guess I didn't need your friend's services!
Maybe I am one of that last breed, too! lol
