So, due to some "News" as pertaining to a Villages resident happening recently, a neighbor pointed me to the website of the supposed "News". Well, there was a story (albeit incorrect as was proven by even the Lake County Court's website). So, corrections were made (with no note of the edit and correction) and some "comments" removed.

Looking at other stories, comments are removed (when they do not suit the "appearance" of what I presume The Villages wants).

More theories as to what a circumstance were were posted (incorrect by every account), including how someone became a resident of The Villages...any attempt to correct the comments, situations, and facts of the reality are promptly deleted from their website (their right of course, however, if they were REPORTING FACTS on the news they would not have the time to "Real Time" edit and manipulate the comments on the stories at hand).

No wonder some of the people in The Villages are as racist, age defiant and uninformed as they seem to be. Their "Trusted" news source seems to not EVER let the facts get into the way - and thus, edits them when it better fits the needs of The Villages...pathetic really.

And, the curtains are pulled back on the Wizzard:jester:

One z in wizard, but I wouldn't point it out if I hadn't felt somehow attacked. I don't feel racist, age defiant and uninformed.

Are you talking about the Sun, or the online news? Neither are owned by the family of the developer. The Sun was once and was sold to a very good friend of the family and the building is still owned by the developer. The online news is owned by Meta Minton who had been managing editor of the Sun but left to start her own business.

I posted the name...it was "starred" out (probably due to legal threats)...but it has village and the other word "news" in the title...

Wizzard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHNdQJPmTRU) <-------- Small reference....and I did say "some" as opposed to "many", "most", or "every".... ;-)

Are you talking about the story of the villager who was arrested for being naked and combative?

I believe that the issue that you pointed out about a name being starred out has nothing to do with legal threats and has something to do with advertising competition. The people who own this site, (who again are not the developers family or anyone associated with it,) can do whatever they like.

No, not that story at all.

Ad Competition makes more sense. As for what you say about the people who own THIS site, correct. They can say the moon is made of cheese. They however are not portraying it as "News" with the intent to inform "us" of the goings on in TV. They say "Here is a forum, chat away" and from that, we glean what we like and shake our heads at the rest. A far cry from a site with the word "news" right in their title.

The only thing that comes to mind is Bryan Williams...what ever is more sensational and run it...

Another site posted incorrect "news", and deletes any comments in trying to correct it. Then, deletes "comments" that are not "in tune" with what they want - but leaves innuendo about race, age, drugs, weapons and on...all while portraying themselves as a "News" site...

I don't either. But teacher me, I am trying to ask the right questions.

Wow, wonder what you write to the New York Times, Washington Post, Orlando Sentinel when they get something wrong or suspect? It's also great to know that you are the expert on sexism, racisim, age defiant. Please open a booth on market night so those of us that are ignorant and uniformed have a place to go be enlightened.....:sigh:

Okay - to out the whole thing....another site did a story about this guy

FROM THE COURT SITE (https://www.lcso.org/inmates/mugshot_booking_detail.php?bookingnumber=16003064)

They said he had a $2000 bond...that was not correct, he has no bond on one charge, and $2000 on another.

This was pointed out and corrected. People then offer their own conjecture on the race, age, drug use and other non-fact and theories on what happened.

The reality - the guy hurt no one (that I know of) however he did slash some tires a week or so ago. An OP was given (as is typical if "victim" asks for one or not).

He see's her at a restaurant and says "something"...that we do not know, he may have, he may not have. BUT, if someone is going to report on what "he said" as fact, could they also not get the rest of the facts in the story at hand?

Then, people infer that he inherited his residence (he rents), he has drugs (heck if I know), and or it is his race that caused this to happen in the first place.

So, when a level headed person (sorta) tries to point out the reality - comments are deleted but the others are left...so, rather than let the facts be given, they opted to let conjecture on false ideas propagate as opposed to clear up the reality.

No he is not my friend, we shook hand once...

Ignorance and racism is NOT hard to find in TV, especially ignorance on racism (it is VERY clear even on this site in another forum). People are welcome to post anything they want and be as racist as they want, however, allowing it to be posted AS NEWS as opposed to conjecture on a web forum is where I see a line is drawn - and by who?

Being a card carrying woman, now I understand. yup. Got it. Or in other words, oic. Watching all those mystery stories on TV help me.

You are not alone. I don't get it either. A rant about misinformation I think. I can't connect the second half of the title "Big Brother is infact watching" to anything said. Back to looking for dog poop stories.

If what was "reported" is true she should have shot him...they did opt to NOT report on the first story (a week ago) where he slashed her tires...or the many times police were at their rental property. Police were at that house six times in three days...

I do not see however why they let conjecture about his color and how he did or did not get into TV and delete reality - one would think a "reporter" or "news" source would check into some background information.
