View Full Version : steam dryers
Fellow TVers....can you share some light on what type of clothes washer and dryers you found exceptional?
We are looking...and today was shown the Electrolux and Maytag 5000. Any input here? How good is the steam dryer? Does it really take wrinkles out?
Anything is helpful.
Coming as soon as we can!!!!

I think i've posted about them before......my wife loves the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer system that are BOTH top loading.
Washer has a direct drive motor...NO transmission, NO belts. Think about what goes on a washer....it's the tranny.
Both have huge payloads, and no bending loading them.
Good Warranty, inexpensive parts, (never needed any) good customer service.
The washer gets clothes MUCH dryer, so your dryer runs about 1/2 the time it used to.......laundry takes much less time.
And you don't have all the mold and smell issues that MANY front loaders seem to have.
Lowes carries them, but they stopped stocking the most feature packed expensive one, and only stock the one with a bit less bells and whistles.
We have the top of the line in both,,,they have an amazing array of features and cycles....very well made. The top loading dryer is very cool.

Thanks TV'ers....now the next question: Is there an appliance store with good track record of quality service near TV?

I get all from Home Depot.
FF good point about Direct Drive. That is why I got the LG system we got. It has direct drive. Washer is 4.3 and dryer 7.3. plenty of room. Love how much less water the front uses. Was skeptical at first. but now love them.
