I heard a rumor Oakwood is moving into the old Whiskey Creek location in LSL. Does anyone have information on this? Fact or Fiction? I hope this is true. Oakwood is so good!

Thanks!

Jullie!

Fumar!

Oakwood????

Hold on a minute.

We are not back there yet, but working on it.

But this got my attention.

Is that the barbecue place that's down the road somewhere around TV?

If so, that was probably the best place we ate when we were there. Other than great steaks at Lopez one night. And one hilarious waiter there.

So tell me true. Is Oakwood that place? You know the one I mean.

Boomer

P. S. Cassie, just saw your post. Oakwood? Is that the place?

Hi Boomer,
Yes, the Oakwood that has great ribs, etc. It is located outside of TV
on 27/441.

I'd rather have Oakwood move in as that is our favorite restaurant in the area.

It is definitely Sonny's. It was in the Daily Sun a few days ago.

Too bad it's not Oakwood going in there. Oakwood is one place with excellent service. Something we always need here in TV. And it seems like the wait there is always an enjoyable one, no matter how long. Plus the wait staff all have personalities. We love it!

Have you folks that like Oakwood tried Sonny's? Just wondering. Oakwood is good, but don't be in a hurry to discount Sonny's.

I like Oakwood much better. Their baby back ribs are the best

SONNY's is moving into old Whiskey Creek. It has been in the paper. Oakwood would have been nice but at least someone is going in there....now maybe if we can someone in the old Main Street Bistro?

I've eaten in Sonny's a few times while traveling around FL, and found it to be OK food, but, for the one's I visited, the buildings themselves were in kind of disrepair - they were old and did not appear to be very well taken care of. There's one o 301 going north aways that should maybe be condemned. Gave me a sense their target audience was, shall we say, the more traditional FL native - pick-up trucks, cow-boy boots, etc, etc (hope I don't offend anyone). But in a way, that's part of their charm.

Oakwood generally has better food, and the restaurant is in good shape. A very good meal for those times I crave BBQ. But Oakwood would lose putting in an alternate location so close to the original. They'd be competing against themselves.

The prospect of Sonny's decent food in what I'd consider an "upscale" location (for Sonny's) is intriguing. If they can provide their usually quick service and decent food, in the higher-quality ambience of an "in town" eatery, it could be a winner.

Where have you been? This was hashed over and over. Even todays Daily Sun has an update that Sonny's will be opening in mid May.
