It seems that the "barbers" here only use the electric clipper. My husband used to get a great cut in IL, shampoo cut, hot towel on the face, shoulder massage and blowdry for $28. Does anyone know of a place to get a great cut?

Most of the barber shops around here give "old man" haircuts. I have started going to Urban Hair Salon. They don't do the facial towel or back rub, but they give a real haircut that looks nice. Plus they take appointments, which I like.
For me, there is nothing worse than waiting in the lobby of a barber shop, not knowing when your turn is next or who your barber will be.

Nicholas at Salon Fifth Avenue next to Target cut Mr. Judy's hair last time. He got a shampoo in a massaging chair, scalp massage, scissors cut, and blowdry for $26. It's the best haircut he's had since we moved here.

Where is that located Judy? My husband hasn't had a decent haircut since we've been here and he's tried quite a few places. What's it near???

fyi,
salon fifth avenue is a part of a village "chain". they have a branch at each of the villages main strip shopping plazas from mulburry to colony plaza and also affiliate with the salon professional academy at buffalo ridge.

Try Jack or Judy at Cal's in Colony Plaza. Make sure you tell them you want a scissor cut. They work by appoinment.

Chels, you know where Target is up near Spanish Springs? On the 27/441 highway? Our family was visiting and we stopped at Target to do some last minute Christmas shopping, and Salon Fifth Avenue is next to Target. If you stand in the parking lot and look at Target the salon is on the left. Mr. Judy said we should go to Target and he'd see if he could get an appointment (it was 2 days before Christmas and he didn't want to do any more shopping! lol). He had one haircut after we arrived in TV (and he didn't want to ever go back to that place), so he was very happy with this haircut. The stylist, Nicholas Tsolakis, spent over an hour trimming and snipping and making him look respectable again.

I'm with YOU, Yoda..... $26, $28 bucks for a haircut? I'll stick with the "old man" barbers; but, I guess that's why I look the way I do. Oh, well!
