I know there are places to pick blueberries near The Villages. But, where are they? Have you been? If so, what are your reviews?
thanks

I bought some locally grown blueberries at the farmers market in Brownwood during our last visit and they were pretty good. I'm looking forward to picking blueberries once we move down to our house in TV. I've missed picking since moving from Michigan to North Carolina 18 years ago. The NC peaches, strawberries and watermelon are fantastic but the blueberries don't hold a candle to those from Michigan. I'm happy to learn there are places to pick fresh fruit near TV as I love nearly all fruit, especially whatever is in season!

Not this one. . It was easy peasy. 6 RIPE (to the touch, smell too) peaches. 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 tbsp.orange juice, 1/4 tsp. salt. 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Use top and bottom crust. Bake for 10 minutes at 450. Reduce to 350 and bake 30 more minutes.(Juice should be bubbling up)

Winn Dixie has a wild blueberry pie with streusel topping for $4 this week. Best I have ever had. Cannot buy those tiny wild blueberries around here. Yum. Boyfriend bought three and put them in his freezer.

That's where my wife gets great blueberries I believe in late May. I think it's near the St Mark's Greek Orthodox Church (not the St Mark's Catholic Church on 42)(same saint tho).

If you look in the paper the local farms will have ads in the classifieds that will tell you when and where they are open. I have been out picking here(earlier than up north) and found the picking good to excellent; many many bushes and not a long walk from the car..Better than the blueberries is sa farm north of here off 301 that has pick your own veggies-for $12 they give you a 5 gallon bucket and you can pick all the bean, tomatoes, cukes and peppers you want. The tomatoes were excellent! for a couple dollars more you can add squash and cabbage. The last time I went we got 40 tomatoes, 12 bell peppers and 6 cukes for $12-best deal around and you know it is fresh!! Again found this in the paper or get adventurous and take a ride outside the villages and you will see signs all over the place in season.

Footnote:
I also am sometimes puzzled by some replies that you got regarding your question.
First a picture of a peach pie, followed by the recipe, followed by a favorable comment on the pie....????? Makes zero sense to me..
Then came a suggestion on U-Pic vegetables for $12.00 a bucket located somewhere north on CR301 without a clue on where on 301 ???...pretty long road.

You are correct-sorry but I did not know the name of the road-right turn pretty sure it is SE 147 pl in Summerfield- will be about a mile down on the right with a great big plywood sign just after you go over the railroad tracks.

These are all great suggestions and ways to find pick-your-own farms just about anywhere in FL. Many have their own web sites which will give you good info on their farm in terms of what's to pick, when, location, etc.
One that we've had a great time picking from is Back Road Berries, just up CR 103 from 466, or you can get to it off of Rt. 301 too by turning at CR 104, then turning left at CR 103. Their blueberries were fantastic and plentiful this season, which is pretty much over now. Go explore and have some fun!!
