Looking at the Freedom Pointe web cam: http://www.oxblue.com/pro/open/?webPath=twfrierson/freedompointe

it looks like they are building a whole other section. Does anyone know if they expanded their original plans since the pre-sales were going so well? Or is this just part of the original design?

Or is that just some sort of parking garage for them?

I'm pretty sure that the other building going on next door to Freedom Pointe is an expansion of the assisted living facility that was already there. I don't think thr ownership is the same as that of Freedom Pointe.

I have a few questions about Freedom Pointe:
Is it a non-smoking facility?
Where is their parking? (Car and golf cart.)
Are they allowing pets? If so, are there limitations as to size?
Do you have a direct "in" with assisted care living if you own a unit there?

To answer one of your concerns... if you drive by FP you will see a huge 3 level parking garage being built.

Ooper - I guess that is what I'm seeing on the web cam.

Yes, Russ... they have been hauling in the prestressed concrete slabs for weeks now. That is exactly what it shows. There looks to be 3 sections that will connect to the main building. It sure looks like it will hold a lot of vehicles.

Cool thing about the web cam is you can go back in time by clicking on the calendar on the left side, go back to April 1 when the gound work was just starting the look at the first of each month going forward....GN

You can see a big difference between Jan 7th and 8th on the parking garage.

I just did a search for Freedom Pointe and came across this thread. I decided to just ask this question here, rather than starting a whole new thread.

Anyway, I have heard, unofficially, that Freedom Pointe is getting good response. My assumption is that most of those who move there will either be parents of Villagers or Villagers themselves. As the occupancy day approaches, will there be more pre-owned houses on the market in TV? If so, it seems like most of the turnover would be on the north side. I do not think the effect will be enormous, or anything even close, but it seems to stand to reason that there will be somewhat of an effect. Some of this may happen quietly, word-of-mouth, via FSBO.

The other day I was looking at resale homes on TV website and there were something like 490 homes for sale through them. Add in homes listed with realtors and FSBO's and there might be 700+ or so on the makret.

A very good time to buy.

What you are looking at in the foreground is the parking deck. I have been watching the web cam for over a year when they were still moving dirt. The cam was in another location and the foundation / ground floor was poured on April 16 2008 starting about 4:00 am under the lights. It was interesting to watch being built. Play around with the calendar and the zoom as the resolution is amazing. Zoom in on something and then grab the photo and move it around.

I was so impressed at the cam I called the company and found out how it worked. The camera alone is not cheap. The picture is taken about every 10 minutes and then transmitted via cell phone to a server in Atlanta.
