Anyone know of a 'plant sitting' service in The Villages? Someone to take care of your plants while you're gone for a few weeks.

That is a very good question. Wonder if high school students would be interested.

Why not ask a friendly neighbor?

I am a plant lover...have many of my own, and they are all on the lanai. I, too, worry about them while away.
I live in Santiago. I may be able to help you with this, so send me a private message if you don't mind.

Not everyone feels comfortable asking for a favor. I personally wouldn't want to impose on a friendly neighbor who might like to say: "too much trouble", but might not want to refuse. I think a reciprocal arrangement is perfect.

Sounds like a business opportunity.

I would be willing to help you if you are away this summer. I will be in TV from about mid-June through the end of Dec. PM me if you want to connect. Rae

In this iphone age you would think there would be an auto feeder that can be pre-programmed or activated via wifi or Bluetooth or …

I too am one that hates bothering people, even neighbors. What’s weird is I don’t mind if they ask me I just don’t like imposing on others.

When I was in HS I got to follow my cousin around for a day. He had a terracescape business. He would water plants on balconies, patios and inside apartments in nyc. I recall one apartment we went to. We were let in by the doorman, watered ONE plant and left. The extra odd aspect, the homeowner was not away on business or vacation, yes he was home. He just didn’t feel like watering that one plant. Cousin did this 3 times per week and the bill was $500/mon. Now that would be outrageous for watering one plant in 2016, that was really insane in 1979. I guess it’s true, some people have more money than sense. To water all the plants on a balcony he charged a mere $800/mon. (in 1979). Most of the time those people also were home. Manhattan is it’s own world, I don’t think this plan would work in TV.
