Cell service below 466a

Help! We have just purchased a new home in Dunedin and are pleased with the fact that it has poured concrete walls and radiant barrier in the attic. HOWEVER....cell service is TERRIBLE (I'm thinking some may be due to the blockage of the signal). Does anyone else have this problem or can you offer suggestions on what might help??

We have ATT just North of 466A. We had hardly any service and bought a booster and now have full bars.

We have Verizon....when we first moved here the service sucked. Better now. A lot depends on your carrier.

Within the last 6 months both ATT and Verison have enabled wi-fi calling on iPhones and android phones that have the latest operating system downloaded to the phone. Wi-fi calling uses your home wi-fi network to make and receive calls. The call clarity is excellent using your home wi-fi in areas that otherwise experience horrible reception. Wi-fi calling eliminates the need for additional booster or mini-cell tower equipment. Google "wi-fi calling" to learn the few simple steps to enable this feature on your phone, or stop by the nearest ATT or Verison store for the staff to show you how to enable it.

I live in the newest village, Osceola Hills at Soaring Eagle, and had terrible reception, 1 or 2 bars. I enabled wi-fi calling on my iPhone 6, iOS 9, ATT and now I get every call and make calls without any problems and have great call quality.

Call AT&T. They have micro cells you can install in your home to boost the signal. Often, if you are a good customer, they will just give you one.

If you are in an area with signal strength issues they will give you one for no charge. I have one. It seems like the areas around Brownwood are the the impacted areas. They do not boost the signal. They route your calls over the internet via your router. The Micro Cell box must be connected to your router via a cat5 cable.

It seems like every new area has their growing pains with one cell carrier or another. In Pennecamp/Buttonwood it was AT&T until they added a new tower over to the west.

As explained above, there are some options until you get additional towers.

With AT&T (and I believe other carriers) there is the AT&T Microcell, which basically gives you a cell signal within your home, piggy backing off your internet. We had one until we got the new tower and recently installed one at my sister in law's...in both cases, it solved the problem.

The other is WiFi calling, which is now enabled on AT&T with iPhones from the 6 or newer. If your cell signal is weak, it will automatically switch over to WiFi calling and I have found it works very well.
