Report: Romney recruiting Kasich, Sasse for third-party option | TheHill (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/279926-report-romney-met-with-kasich-sasse-about-third-party)

What's with Romney? Is he really that childish and a poor loser? Does he care so little about loyalty to his party that he would sabotage it in order to get his perceived revenge on Trump? If Romney starts a third party, he will insure Hillary's win.

Romney could be both childish and a poor loser, or he could be smart enough to see that Donald Trump is going down and taking the senate and the house with him.

I'm interested in hearing how Trump would cause congress to lose the majority. If anything, if they were to jump on the Trump bandwagon, they would probably insure their reelection. Trump has increased Republican turnout by 60%. What makes you think that he will lose? The Dems have lost 20% voter turnout and many dems have admitted that they are considering voting for Trump. If you want to heal a divide of party polarity in our country, what candidate has a better chance? If the GOP establishment would lay off of Trump, and support him then he would have a easier time of winning the election. If they go against him and he wins, heaven help them. Of course, Trump doesn't seem to hold public grievances to those that oppose him. As a matter of fact, it seems that once they are no longer a threat, he invites them in. Romney is a loser that is jealous of Trump and needs to find a place to hide this election out. If Trump gets a bit more support from the establishment, he is going to win by a landslide. The Left's only chance to win is to get rid of Hillary, and then they have a lot of catching up to cross that finish line first. Trump is predicted to take back all the states that Romney lost to the Dems. Political pundits have been surprised more than once by Trump in this campaign. They under estimate him and his support.

When Trump wins by a landslide, remember that I said it. But, if Romney sabotages the Republican party, it's going to be a sad day on Nov 8.

Romney is Gordon Gekko from the movie Wall Street. He buys up distressed companies and sells the pieces. One out of 100 he may try to salvage. Watch the movie, learn about the man who would be president. Wall Street (1987) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094291/)

This time four years ago, Etchy was going to win in a landslide.

That' s what all the Cons were boasting.

That turned out well, eh?

And the past 4 years have been fantastic --- just look at the economy and the economic growth under another 4 years of Mr. Obama !
What else could you ask for .

No, actually, it's true. He bought up companies and disposed of them as he saw fit. A lot of people were out of work because of him. Very few working because of him.

Where? The country looks worse off to me. And it cost $10 trillion to do it.

One issue that all senate and house candidates will have to deal with is Trump's proposal to raise taxes on the wealthy. Isn't this the polar opposite of what the taxed enough already party stands for?

Trump said:
"In other words, it's going to cost me a fortune." — News conference, Sept. 28, 2015

"For the wealthy, I think, frankly, it's going to go up. And you know what? It really should go up." — NBC's Meet the Press, May 7

"I'm not talking raise from where they are now. I'm talking raise from my low proposal." — Fox Business Network, May 9

Starting Monday, Trump sought to clarify his remarks, with interviews in The Wall Street Journal and on Fox Business Network, among others.

Trump said he absolutely does not favor raising taxes on the wealthy, or anyone else for that matter.

Reince Priebus said that a third party run would be a "suicide mission for the US". He should have said it would be a suicide mission for the republican party, IMO.

Same thing. No one would benefit from four more years of Obama policies. And that is what you would get with Clinton, due to a third party run. So, yes it would be bad for the Republican party, but also for America.

Mitt Romney's got to learn that there are no mulligans in presidential primaries. Trump was elected fair and square and now the GOP is stuck with him. The one's responsible for Hillary's win are the primary voters who voted for him.

You got to dance with the one who brung you.

Exactly RIGHT!

Romney blew it when he had a chance, so he needs to just fade into the back ground and enjoy the money he stashed in the islands. If Hillary wins, then Romney will once again be responsible for contributing to liberals in the white house.

in 2012, and had the Obama record the last four years, the Republicans would be shouting from the rooftops about what a great job he has done. You people are such hypocrites.

I bet you are loved in the audience of a magician when he is using his smoke and mirrors to fool you. Because Obama has definitely used smoke and mirrors on you and you are definitely fooled.

Anyone that knows anything about the economy knows that we have a very bad and unstable economy right now. This is the ONLY president in history that has not had a 3% GDP growth during his term. And he has had two terms to accomplish this.

During Obama's administration we have had record of workers leave the job force.
We have had and still do have a record of food stamp recipients.

Do I really need to go on or are you naive enough to expect us to overlook his blatant ineptness?

Do you know what the president was really good at? Winning elections. Is there anybody on this forum old enough to remember what a good feeling that was for republicans?
