When you are turning left, you don't have to stay behind that line when the light turns green. Get your butt on out in the intersection so the folks behind you will have a chance to turn too.

Also, so much of the time you can't see far enough to the right or left to make a safe turn. I'm always going further than the white line so I can see. Who makes those lines anyway?

Just don't turn your wheels to the left until you start the turn. If they are turned before you start the turn, and you get hit from behind, you will be pushed into oncoming traffic.

In PA and NJ, if you have passed the white line when the light turns red, you have gone through a red light. Very rarely enforced unless there is an accident.....I know from experience. Don't know what the FL law states.

Hmmm...Hafta wonder how many times the OP has encountered a vehicle running the red light INTO the path of the turning vehicle. Hope they're never behind me at the light - still gonna count to 3 or maybe 5 before I proceed into the intersection!

And if the OP makes this maneuver on 101 outside CVS he is going to be creamed by three lanes of traffic on 466.

Shortly after I moved here a guy I played golf with told me he was ticketed in one of the rec center parking lots for not stopping at those white lines???

I did give him some credence because cops are people and people in every profession do gt a bit too exuberant
