Has anybody else taken note of the connection of the election of Barack Obama to that of Abe Lilncoln?
Both were elected from Illinois.
One man, white, essentially freed slaves with the Emancipation Proclamations in 1862 and 1863.
The other is half black, and to begin serving as president 147 years after the proclamations which freed black slaves.
Remarkable.
