Good news is that Dr. Shelia Torres is in TV and is, in my opinion, the best dermatologist ever. Everyone we have referred to her has felt the same way.
Bad news is that Dr. Torres takes new patients ONE day a year. I believe it's December 1st that she opens up a set number of new appointments. When they're gone, no more new patients. This has been her policy since we moved here in 2004, but it would be worth a telephone call to her office to verify the policy remains the same, if you're interested in pursuing an appointment with her. Her telephone number is: (352) 259-4404.

Her new patient policy is unchanged. I called for several hours on Dec 1st and finally got through. My first appointment is set for August 14th. Normally I wouldn't have bothered, but my wife is a patient and Dr. Torres treats all of her patients as if they were her only patient and her medical and people skills are the best.

Unfortunately, I was one of those that DID NOT get through to Dr. Torres office on the 1rst of December.
Can anyone recommend someone else?
What about the group out of Ocala that also has an office in Summerfield....Kathryn Holloway?
Thanks,
Lynn

That is interesting--it says on their website and on my insurance site that she does.....
She has partners---but, both men. I may just have to BITE the bullet...

I called--and got the same response....the only one in that office taking new patients is Dr. Hilder.
There is another name (female) that I have here---Colleen Macinnis--over on 441....has anyone heard of her?
Thanks,
Lynn

Yes, she is with ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY. Very good. Primarily does Moh's surgery.

If a female dermatologist is absolutely necessary, I can't help. But I can tell you that several friends and I are very satisfied with Dr. Michael Freeman. Ocala and Villages offices.
