This is very interesting. I have often seen Darwinism and a strong belief in God as compatible. It just means that God has his own time framework. He can see what will happen millions of years from now as well as what happened billions of years before. And we have little chance of seeing this plan of his.
My major concentration in my Philosophy courses at the University of Nevada, Reno was in the Philosophy of Science and often saw the limitations of knowledge.

While I am fascinated by the extremely large and the infinitely small, I am not a scientist but I am a Christian. I am bothered by “pure” Darwinism, meaning that only Darwin can properly explain the evolution of man. As you suggest, I do not believe that intelligent design disallows a Darwinian explanation of how man “developed”. Perhaps that’s God’s method? I’m completely comfortable with that.
Our current educational system however, which does not allow for the inclusion of intelligent design as a possible explanation for “us” (and is being controlled by the insecure and closed-minded who are fearful of being challenged) is cheating our youth and all of mankind from developing original thought and independent thinking. In fact, our public educational system is programming its graduates to not consider other reasonable explanations or alternatives.
Can I prove that God created the universe? Nope but it makes more sense than any other explanation. Darwin and God are not mutually exclusive concepts; in fact they are quite compatible.
