maybe we could get Sullenberger, US Airways heroic pilot, to be a consultant for POTUS, Congress and the US Senate.

He could develop an analogy that their situation could...stress COULD be like piloting a plane. The constituents are the passengers. The engines are what drives the economy. Now as a pilot when the engines go out one is totally and completely committed to DOING SOMETHING for the benefit of the constituency.
The pilot has no choice but to go into action.

Politicians would need time to figure out whose fault it is the engines went out. Who would benefit if something was to be done. Then there would be a discussion of what if it doesn't work, whose fault would it be.

....not a comforting process is it when contrasted to a REAL crisis?

What is the big difference? I know they are not pilots, we all know that. The big difference is, as pilots they are personally involved. If they do not take action they will suffer the same fate as the constituents....but that is not the only reason guys like "Sully" perform. He is dedicated and experienced at taking action when needed.

That is certainly not the case with Washington DC. First of all there are too many lawyers....too many long in the tooth members......too many criminals in suits and ties....too many politicians kissing babies and making PROMISES....not a one held accountable for anything. Not a one hroic enough to do what it takes.....and every one of them knows there is no penalty for doing NOTHING....or accomplishing NOTHING.

And oh by the way they paid one :cus::cus: of a lot more than pilots.

You want experience in Washington? Get the incumbents out and get people in who are experienced at TAKING ACTION and DOING SOMETHING.

Any way....just another way to look at what does it take. No matter what it starts with we the people....and that is another problem for another analogy.
