Well it looks like the dems are getting their way with gun laws.( In todays news) This is respect to concealed carry. I'll say one thing,if they are successful in limiting or eliminating guns in this country it will be the end of freedom. It has been said before the criminals will always get a gun if they want one. Why in the h--l are the law a bidding citizens penalized. Why is the American born citizen penalized. obama and the democrats are destroying the country we all worked hard for . We are weaker than ever and broke. I just hope the h--l Trump gets in and does what he has said he would do. I am beginning to wonder though. Maybe he was the plant to make sure Clinton got in. I sure hope I'm wrong.

There will always be guns in America. Even if they collected all the registered guns, there would still be the unregistered that are everywhere. I have several unregistered that they will never get.

I also own guns and believe the courts decision was correct. It sounds like you support the NRA position that anyone who can maintain a body temp of around 98 degrees should be able to carry a concealed weapon. The privilege of carrying a concealed weapon needs to be much more tightly controlled. What you call a law abiding citizen is a thug who has not been convicted of a felony and there are many of those around.

Nothing in the Second Amendment about concealed carry. The Supreme Court should decide that a citizen could open carry one musket - same as in 1776 - as the Founding Fathers could do.
No Bushmasters, no AK's, no military grade, no semiautomatics, etc. just one musket (flintlock, single shot).
You drugstore cowboys would be whining like little kids who had their lunch money taken away. :BigApplause:

You must have one of those Obama revised versions of the Constitution, because mind doesn't specify what type of firearm. So, since we are discussing the idea of protecting ourselves from the government, I guess it could mean that we should own assault weapons. As far as I can tell, the Federal government did not put stipulations/limits on firearms when they wrote the Constitution. You can have your muzzle loaders, and I will have my assault weapons. That should make you feel better, since we live in a FREE country, right?
By the way, I have had a gun since I was 13 years old and have been carrying a gun since I was 18 in combat and then concealed since I was 21. Never had to shoot anyone that did not deserve it and never had an accidental discharge.
If you are afraid of guns, then I suggest that you avoid them. If you are afraid of everyone else owning a gun, then I suggest a good home security system and a rent-a-cop to accompany your family when they are out and about. You need not be ashamed that you are not up to protecting your family. Hopefully, there will be one of US around to protect your family from scumbags that try to harm them.
By the way, liberals attempt decriminalize all manner of illegal activity in our country, yet they want to make more criminals out of decent folks. If gun ownership and concealed carry is banned, there will be additional thousands of criminals added to the country, because we won't be giving up or laying down our guns, period.
You believe you are being civilized, but the fact is that you are being naive.

They want us disarmed and unable to fight for ourselves to stop the "fundamental changing of America".
The difference between a slave and a citizen, a citizen can defend themselves.

Actually...the right to bear arms and a well regulated militia...meant that WE can have whatever THEY have. We're technically allowed to have tanks, fighter jets, anything considered "arms". It also means we can FORM local militias to protect ourselves from the government and others.
They want our freedoms taken away. Just like they did to the people overseas who hate us because we took their freedom away.

The purpose of "concealed carry" is to alleviate the fear that you libtards have of seeing a nasty old gun in pubic. It's for you, so that you won't panic and to keep the bad guy guessing when he is thinking about robbing someone. If you don't like concealed carry, then vote for open carry. That way, you will know who to avoid if you are scared of the nasty gun things. Of course, you will also be avoiding the safest public places too. Guns don't go off by themselves, and guns don't shoot people. People are the bad guys, not guns. If we had stricter penalties for law breakers, then there would not be much need for a lot of guns in public. But, that will never happen. When a judge gives a rapist SIX (6) months for raping an unconscious girl, why would criminals worry about penalties?
I remember a time up North where there was a DWI offender that got a year in jail and a gang member that shot and killed an innocent bystander in a gang fight, that got ten months for manslaughter.
I hope you don't live in The Villages, because you would be surprised at how many of us have concealed carry weapons on us all the time. I bet you would barricade yourself in you home if you knew just how many. The Villages is a pretty safe place to live too, isn't it?

States can restrict concealed weapons, appeals court says - CNNPolitics.com (http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/09/politics/concealed-carry-second-amendment/)
That's also the usually very liberal Ninth Circuit.

DWI was white with money to take.
Killer was just another violent minority, can't keep them there too long, it looks racist when half your population is locked up for violence.
The Villages is a "safe place to live" for ONE reason...demographics...99.9% white. NO OTHER place is like it that is 99.9% ANY other race.

Most of the old farts with their concealed carry guns would shoot off their own wee-wee if they ever were in a stress related incident.
If I see anyone with a concealed weapon and he is foolish enough to show it, he will be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

That's a stupid comment. It doesn't even warrant anything more than just plain "STUPID."
Just out of curiosity, how many "old farts" or anyone else for that matter have brandished a gun at you? Do you have any idea how many concealed carry there are just in The Villages? Why in the world would you make a statement that someone might wave a gun at you? Has it happened to you before and now you fear your life? Never mind, it doesn't matter. You will probably walk right past me and never know how close you were to a gun. You probably walk past guns every day.
Do everyone a favor and wear a sign saying "I do not approve of guns so please do not attempt to save me if I am being assaulted or robbed. " Then wait for a cop to come and save you. Ask the perpetrator to wait the 20 minutes it will take the police to respond.

Why, in The Villages, do you feel it is necessary to carry a handgun?
I could understand it if you were frequenting Wildwood after dark or walking around parts of Orlando after dark - but The Villages in the daytime or anytime.
Are you that scared? I even know of one Villager who claims he answers his front door with his pistol held at his side. Another is a 96 year old man who is wheelchair bound and carries a pistol in the side compartment of the wheelchair - inside the house.
Another Villager even posted that he carried his pistol while going to Dunkin Donuts at 6:30 a.m. Why? Being scared of everyday life is no way to live. I have lived for over 70 years and never felt it necessary to carry a gun - except for my time in the Army, of course.
i am sure all know the law about being in a bar or bar section while carrying. Hopefully, all follow that law.

The fantasy is that if something goes wrong then just like Ben Cartwright or Charlie Bronson they will be able to protect everyone.
Trump said what happened in Paris would not happen here because so many American carry guns. I think there would be more carnage, people shot with friendly fire. I think if someone hears gunfire in a certain direction, in a panic, but with good intentions that's where they will fire. How can anyone pick out who's Charlie Bronson from Charlie Manson?

Some folks are fools. They walk around thinking that nothing will ever happen to them. Then when confronted with the dangerous situation and happen to be blessed/lucky enough to get out of it alive, they will blame the police.
Why do I carry when in The Villages? Because a gun is just a tool to me and it will not do me any good if I leave my tool at home when I might need it. The Villages is not a real bubble even though you live in that bubble in your head. I would rather have the gun with me and not ever need to use it, than to not have it when someone is being killed, or raped when I would have been able to assist them. I would render assistance to your family when you can't help them. But, I do it for my family most of all. For protection. If you had ever been in law enforcement, even for a short while, you would look at the world with open eyes.
Just because you liberals don't like guns, why do you wish to ban them from others that are not afraid of them and that may very well save your hide at some future time? No one is mandating that you carry a gun. No one is even mandating that you own a gun. But, that does not mean that you need to stick your long @ss nose into our business when it has nothing to do with you. You have people walking past you every day carrying guns and you don't even know it.
You say you are 70 years old. I wonder how you would fare against a couple of young punks that want to take your money. They don't just take it anymore, they also assault and many times murder their victims.
Is 70 too old to carry a gun? Well, I have been beat playing pickleball by guys and gals in their 80's. I see them shooting pool with people half their age and can still beat them. I still see them operating cars (scary thought) and can do so without killing themselves or others (in most cases). So, if you are afraid of a gun, don't buy one. My daughter carries one and she teaches her children how to shoot. I gave my 11 year old his first 22. This year he shot his first 8 point buck, but not with the 22.
Guns are just tools. They don't feel, they don't kill, and they don't operate on their own.
I do not frequent bars, to answer your question. I will not even carry my pistol if I go to someone's home where I might have a glass of wine with dinner.

Everyone needs to trust that all the volunteers know what they are doing. How likely is that?

Because the bank and state KNOW things happen in every day life! It might not happen to YOU, but it WILL happen to someone. Every day there are house fires, every day there are car accidents.
Don't live your life with blinders on. Look around, not just straight ahead. There's more to the world than you and your life.
That's the trouble with "liberals" they go through life with blinders and rose colored glasses. They think the utopia they imagine can work. Sure, if EVERYONE was you. Unfortunately there are REAL people in the real world who don't play nice with others. We've already locked up 2,217,947 people. More than the population of these states:
New Mexico 2,085,109
Nebraska 1,896,190
West Virginia 1,844,128
Idaho 1,654,930
Hawaii 1,431,603
New Hampshire 1,330,608
Maine 1,329,328
Rhode Island 1,056,298
Montana 1,032,949
Delaware 945,934
South Dakota 858,469
North Dakota 756,927
Alaska 738,432
DC 672,228
Vermont 626,042
Wyoming 586,107
How many more until you can get your utopia?
The trouble is...the trouble comes mostly from those whom you protect...the minorities. Only 1/3 of the prisoners are white, and it's because minorities are more violent. Why would liberals want MORE violent people? It doesn't make sense does it? "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder".

You know better then the professionals. Is that correct?
Sometimes.
A "professional" simply means they get paid. It doesn't guarantee competence or knowledge.

Big terrorist attack in Orlando. Obama bringing thousands of in-vetted people from the Mideast here and Obama wants to disarm American Citizens? What is that all about?

He wants to be sure we Americans do not make the turn over of America to the islamic world into anything but a cake walk.
Again yesterday he did not call it what it is.
He is a proven islamic terrorist sympathizer......his deeds and what he says present his case for islam.
The world will be better off as soon as that radical black activist is the hell out of the WH.

I am a liberal. I carry a Glock. I spent many days hunting with my father. We used rifles and shotguns depending on what we were after. I doubt Dad would have even considered using a semi-automatic for hunting. I have no need for an assault weapon and I'd be hard-pressed to be convinced that anyone else does. I would love to see them banned. Yes, there will still be bad guys who have them but if they could no longer be manufactured, they would ultimately become a thing of the past. While people would have still died in Orlando, the numbers would have been far less had that thing not been allowed to purchase an assault weapon.
There is absolutely no logical reason for owning an assault weapon. The Second Amendment is for a "well armed militia" so that people will be able to protect and defend themselves. The very name "assault" belies defending oneself. It is an attack weapon, plain and simple. So, carry your handguns. Keep a shotgun close to your bed. Have a good rifle or two for hunting. Ban the assault weapons.

Assault weapons ARE banned. What's your problem that you attempt to convince us that you know something about guns and then don't even know something as simple as that? When is the last time you have known an assault weapon used in the U.S. to commit mass murders? You might find something a couple of decades ago, but not recently.

If the 3.5 to 4 million so-called assault weapons currently in private hands are banned, do you really think that those who own them will just turn them in?

RedI can ask you a question and know you won't jump down my throat, as my dad use to say.
What makes a weapon an assault weapon. I know it's not the acronym AR or fully automatic making it unavailable for purchase. Is it the calabre? Or is the bullet more damaging? Is it because their is a military equivalent that is automatic but since everything else is the same, call it assault and it will sell better?

The problem with your information is that it's wrong. So, how can someone attempt to answer your question? If you don't know the difference between an assault weapon and a semi-automatic, then you don't belong in this conversation.
Assault weapons (machine guns and fully automatic weapons) have been banned since April 1986.

If I was on the receiving end of an armed assault such as this one, I would rather that the perpetrator had a fully automatic weapon than a semi-automatic. Why? Because it is common knowledge that fully automatic weapons are less accurate than single aimed shots, because the barrel of the weapon moves away from the target as each round is fired. Plus, is only a matter of seconds that a magazine of rounds will be expended inaccurately all over the place in a matter of seconds, requiring a reload. That gives the victims more of a chance to escape or even overpower the bad guy.

If you can't read, you don't belong in this conversation. I said "so-called assault weapons" (as categorized by the left), not actual assault weapons. Oh, to put your mind at ease, I do know the distinction between the two catagories.

Automatic weapons have been banned since the 90s. Semi-automatic rifles have not. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic. The "AR" stands for assault rifle. It has a detachable magazine holding 30 rounds. This rifle has been used in several mass murder shootings -- Sandy Hook, San Bernadino, Orlando, to name a few. Call it what you want. I call it an assault rifle, it calls itself an assault rifle, and I want it and its ilk banned. sorry if you don't.
BTW, in an enclosed room with several people in the room, accuracy is pretty moot. Kind of hard to miss hitting someone so long as you can hold the weapon at least semi-straight.

The "AR" stands for ArmaLite Rifle, NOT Assault Rifle. You might want to do a little research and gather a few facts before you post.

The 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, which expired on September 13, 2004, codified a definition of an assault weapon. It defined the rifle type of assault weapon as a semiautomatic firearm with the ability to accept a detachable magazine and two or more of the following:
a folding or telescoping stock
a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon
a bayonet mount
a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor
a grenade launcher
Did anyone mention this before?

The reason these are available is in case the armed forces turns against the citizens, the citizens would have weapons that comparable. But that can't be right because their weapons are automatic. And that's why some people are trying to have the laws changed so that automatic assault weapons are available to the citizens. Is that the argument?

You can argue all you wish, but the point is that liberals do NOT know what an assault weapon is. If you are speaking of a fully automatice weapon, you cannot own one in the U.S. UNLESS you apply for and receive a special license by the Federal Gov. And that requires an extensive background investigation and a very high licensing fee.
If you believe that semi-automatic weapons are the same as assault weapons, then you have a different definition than what the law stipulates. I have a 9mm semi-automatic pistol that holds 16 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, giving me the ability to fire it 17 times before reloading. I also have a 9mm semi-automatic carbine (rifle) that looks like an assault weapon that has a scope on it, a flash suppressor and the magazine holds 20 rounds. Are those assault weapons? No, not by definition. I also own a Russian, bolt action long rifle with bayonet that is a Russian military rifle with an accuracy of up to about a 1000 meters. It is a military surplus weapon. Do you consider that an assault weapon? My pistol is used by the police and military, does that make it an assault weapon? Not according to most definitions, but liberals are know-it-alls so lets hear their reply. My son has a semi-automatic shotgun. I carried a pump action shotgun in Vietnam. Is his an assault weapons?
If liberals had their way, we would all be able to have muzzle loaders and the bad guys would be able to have automatic weapons. Laws don't mean anything except to the good guys. LIberals live in a make believe Oblama Utopia.

Laws obviously do not do anything to deter crime
Strict enforcement and penalties deter crime.

Why, are you looking for it? I carry all the time and I wear all the above. Not all pistols are large and have a large round capacity. Mine carries six in the magazine and one in the chamber all the time. And I have been to the pistol firing range this week, so I know it works. You won't know I have it, but I can get to it faster than I can get my wallet out.
